That hit very hard as boa is one of the seven Warlords and upto this point all of them were villains, so this came out of nowhere and the elder lady saying that boa is having love sickness and love is a hurricane is an iconic moment for sure

For Skypiea, I think you're mistaken, sure that Enel reaction is memorable but I would categorize it as most meme'd moment. To me, and I'm sure many others, the most iconic moment from Skypiea is Luffy ringing the bell and proclaiming to Cricket that the city of gold is in the sky. The bell's ringing carrying so far so that even Cricket can hear it way up there in all its majesty and thus fulfilling a promise 400 years in the making to bring the Nolan flashback full circle proving he was no liar. This single moment is the reason Skypiea is in my top 3 favorite One Piece arcs. I always tear up thinking of this moment. It's simply one of the best.

it's hard to say, the blood transfusion obviously holds a lot more meaning and as a closure to the whole conflict on Fishman Island (with Fisher Tiger dying because of a blood transfusion refusal) it's probably more fitting to describe the "most iconic" moment of the arc. But we can't easily discard how big the Conqueror's Haki moment was, everyone was dying to see how far Luffy had come, and defeating 50000 enemies in one go is *still* the moment where the most enemies were defeated in the story.

Skypiea Note: The snake having a dream of his friends (Noland and Kalgara) fading away as he chases them, and then having it revealed that him slithering forward in his sleep ultimately contributed toward achieving his old friends' dream of ringing the bell (by ramming into the tree accidentally) is seriously good stuff, and people gloss over that moment quite often. It actually brought a tear to my eye when reading it, and I'm a grown-ass man. Seriously, go re-read that arc and pay attention to that moment. It combines the sincere sadness of an animal (similar to a dog) grieving the death of his masters, while somehow (in very One Piece fashion) *actually* contributes to their long-lost dream becoming a reality. Also, Luffy and the Straw Hats dancing around the fire is certainly better than Enel's reaction. I thought this back then, and I maintain it now. It's a simply beautiful scene that highlights where Robin's heart belongs quite some time before the events of Water 7, which elevates that scene at the fire even further. Strikingly stylized, too.

I disagree personally. I thought it was just the justification he used to make himself feel better about how much of a sadist he was. @invalidopinion538410 ай бұрын
@@oxedward4738 sure, there are holes in Hannyabal's worldview no doubt, but mirulrs is still right that Hannyabal's speak is what first got a lot of readers questioning the correctness of Luffy's actions. The vast majority of pirates in the OP world are not at all like the Straw Hats, and whilst many probably didn't deserve the torture they were subjected to there's a good argument to be made that Luffy's actions did more harm than good here, especially considering the futility of it all in the end. Blackbeards introduction is great, but I think my favorite part/scene from Jaya is a one much smaller: The face off of Cricket and Bellamy. Just the image of bloody, bruised up Cricket that takes half the page. He takes a breath of his cigarette and his eyes filled with rage without pupils. I don't know why it makes me feel the way it does. Just this image of a broken man, ready to defend till the end all he has to show for his life's work. And he knows he's going to loose. I grow up with the finnish translation of the manga, and the dialogue IMO gives so much more punch to the scene than the official english translation. "Älä sinä märkäkorva esitä oikeaa merirosvoa kun et edes uskalla haastaa haavekuvia tappeluun" Roughly and straightly translated it goes "Don't you wet-behind-ears try to pretend be a real pirate when you don't even have the guts to challenge fantasies into a fight" And Bellamy turns to him "What was that?" It has always striked with me. To the point I always think of this scene when I see people who talk big shit about doing something big but they never have the courage to even start. Jaya is so underappreciated arc.

Excellent video morj. Honestly this examplifies the quality of One piece so well, as well as the post timeskip decline. It's almost like Oda had these pivotal scenes in his head and they served as the basis for the arc from which he created the rest of the story out of, reminiscent of the writing analysis you made some years ago. Every arc had some stand out emotional hitter involving the strawhats which showed some kind of unique character quality or character development. The post timeskip almost serves as well of a lesson as the pre timeskip in this case. Fishman Island had Luffy and Jimbei donating blood which would have been a good character moment, but that didn't really hit home as well probably cause Jinbei didn't really have a character arc and it was outshined by Fisher Tiger. Still it was a really good arc, when you forget Hody Jones ever existed. Punk Hazard was when it started to lose those moments where for the first time it was an action scene from somebody other than a strawhat that was put in that number 1 spot and we all collectively accepted that it was akin to the smaller islands in the Alabasta Arc, waiting for the big moment. T hen Dressrosa came, but the emotional iconic scenes fell short. It had the transformation, but besides Mr Babyman and his backstory, Doflamingo honestly was the closest to an iconic scene when he was reading the book about Law's disease while his goggles were down. The arc kinda went by in the most anticlimactic way possible despite being longer, effectively serving only side characters we didn't and will never care about which were shoehorned in to give luffy henchmen. Zou which I can't blame at all for falling short in the emotional aspect, actually was really great as a worldbuilding arc and seeing the island itself was the iconic page. But again Whole Cake fell short. I never felt the conflict between Luffy and Sanji because it seemed so forced and had so little logic to it that I found it silly at first, like is Oda seriously going to handle this so amateurish? Coupled with the amount of plot conveniences this arc had as well as the lack of any kind of iconic emotional hitters, it left me with an ever growing question about wether or not Oda still had it, the only light at the end of the tunnel being Wano. The Reverie was again just too short to have any momentum and it was more like the existence of this arc itself was iconic. Now I didn't reread Wano as of now and I'm not gonna go on a negative rant on it for the sake of it, I know you have some qualms with the arc and the writing yourself. I think a lot of people were turned down by the retcon. You know which one I mean, when Reighley claimed they found it on their own, but everyone's boy Oden was actually the one who helped them. Oh and I guess the God thing. Personally I didn't like how Oda ruined Hawkins big moment, literally predicting the winner of the arc as well as his own demise and then playing it out in the most unsatisfactory way possible. Your theories about it just hyped it up too much bro. Would have been really great if Ussop got captured and had to prove himself although Oda is probably holding it for the final arc, would have been great if we got Zoro vs Green Bull family reunion style. But, honestly Egghead has already been the best post timeskip arc so far and like you said we're probably entering preplanned peak piece again where all the most iconic characters are about to get their character arcs and until now it didn't dissapoint. Hopefully the future chapters will carry on this quality.

Maybe because of its anime clip being so popular on KZbin, but I was under the impression that Luffy's Jet Bazooka on Blackbeard after he found out from him that he replaced Ace was Impel Down's most iconic moment. I guess it's just for me? But again, that was my impression.

I feel for Fishman Island, the 10 vs 100,000 scene is very iconic, can't choose what is the most iconic panel of this moment though, whether it's the panel of the Straw Hats lining up, or Zoro and Sanji blocking attacks at the same time as Luffy marches forward, or it is the incredible Luffy's Conqueror's Haki knocking down 50,000 fishmen feat, it's one hype moment after the other. it's this moment where the Straw Hats started to truly feel like a legendary crew in-universe, they felt like a big deal, they are now one of the strongest parties in the world, competing with the likes of Whitebeard's crew or Shanks' crew is not a far-off dream. granted in terms of power scaling and fame they are still far away from that, but it felt like a signal to the reader it is only a matter of time before that happens

I honestly think Enel's face is still the most iconic moment in Skypeia even considering the Nika reveal. The dance is iconic in the One Piece fandom specifically, but Enel's face is not just iconic in the One Piece fandom but also probably one of the most iconic things outside of One Piece. His face is referenced so much even outside of One Piece. Also, I get why you didn't rank Water 7 separately, but Jaya is also very tied into the story of Skypiea and Skypiea wouldn't work without it. And just to say what I think is Water 7's most iconic moment is, it's Luffy vs Usopp. Like, it's not even close.

Other iconic moments: 1. The Barrel scene at logue town 2. Skypiea: Luffy ringd the bell and We see his Gigantic shadow from the sky 3. Water 7+ Enis Lobby : Luffy and zoro being stuck in water 7, and a Huge Wave is about to hit them. Then Nami told them about Robin, that Robin didnt betray them and is actually sacrificing herself to save them. Then we see Luffy and Zoro free themselves and avoid the first Wave of The Aqua Laguna. 4. Sabaody : Rayleigh saves Zoro, For the first time we see haki used against the invincible Logia User! 5.Sabaody: Luffy cyring because he couldnt save anybody from Kuma!! 5.Fishman Island: Luffy defeats 50.000 fishman with Conquerers Haki alone, without moving a single finger!!

Not that I disagree on Gear 4 being the most iconic moment in Dressrose, but for me personal, my stand-out moment will always be Corazon's death. Telling Law he loves him with the smile that became his Jolly Roger, telling Doflamingo that Law is free now, and staying alive as long as he can so that Law has sufficient time to escape without being heard.

Great video, great concept. A few I'd change though; as many have mentioned already, the foot-on-barrel crews' dreams scene is mega iconic, I just don't know whether to put it in Loguetown or Reverse Mountain. Little Garden's is DEFINITELY Zoro posing on the wax cake, completely at ease with death before achieveing his dream like the badass he is. Amazon Lily, the one you picked is good but Luffy seeing Hancock's slave mark was another pretty big one. Impel Down, I disagree with yours: it's BY FAR and EASILY Bon-clay's "Satisfaction/No regrets" moment. Marineford's is most likely "correct" but The One Piece is Real and Whitebeard's death are way up there as well. Dressrosa I'd argue has a lot that are maybe more iconic to me than Gear 4th, like Sabo's reveal to us and Luffy (the one thing that made Luffy himself finally make the iconic face) and Fujitora bowing before King Riku. For Whole Cake, while I do like your choice, I think there are several other valid options like Sanji standing over his helpless family on the table, Brook facing down Big Mom and calling her a little girl, Luffy breaking the mirror and Katakuri falling down after forfeiting to Luffy's indominable spirit. Wano, I think you can break into 2 parts like W7/EL, the very very VERY end of "Wano proper" you definitely have Roger Laughed, then for Onigashima as its own thing you have Gear 5th moon shot. And if we had a "post-onigashima" act of Wano to finalize the W7 similarities, it's easily Luffy's 'true dream' scene.

For lougetown, i’d have to say it was when the old man realized the resemblance of Luffy and Roger. It kinda showed viewers “yeah this is the main character” but also showed people in the one piece verse “this guy is a different pirate from the rest”

For fish man island there is also luffy knocking out 50000 fish men and for wano there is oden holding the scabbards over boiling oil and the beginning of roof piece where luffy declares he will be the king of the pirates to big mom and kaido to their face

I would say "Help Me" is in the top tier even just among the iconic moments, because it was the first high water mark for such scenes. When it first came out, the power of the emotions were simply unprecedented. Things like Robin's declaration at Enies Lobby, punching the Celestial Dragon, and Ace's and Kuma's sacrifices have surpassed it in sheer impact, but "Help Me" primed the pumps - so to speak - preparing us for those future moments. I also agree with OmegaSpartan08 that the ringing of the bell is the most iconic moment in Skypeia, and with syd7903 that Brook's flashback during the party is the most iconic moment on Thriller Bark.

Impel Down: Luffy punching Blackbeard. (I suppose the anime turning it into a shaded freeze-frame made that more of an "icon" in my mind) Dressrosa: Harjudin holding up Usopp, light shining down. (Powerful/funny image, euphoric turning point in the arc. Gear 4 on the other hand did not cure my Dressrosa fatigue, and I can't picture the exact moment like I can all the other Gears)
