My family used to enjoy driving down the boulevard after dark years ago. Loved the lights of the Pavilion and lighted signs on the hotels and motels. I can remember when The Yachtsman was the main “luxury” resort on the beach. Thanks for the tour!

Just left from there yesterday(which was 7-17-21). I took the kids to the trampoline park, the wax museum and go cart riding. We ended our visit there with shopping and going to the beach. My kids always love it there. We are from NC. 4.5 hours away from Myrtle Beach.

We have had houses in Surfside since I was a little kid, my first job was at K&W Cafeteria, on 17 near the old Air Force Base. Then I worked several years at the Grand Prix across from the Air Force Base. This video was the first time I have even seen the blvd. in at least 15 years......I haven't even seen the skywheel. Seems like that area has really gone down, while places like Broadway at the Beach are jam packet, and much nicer. Such a shame......

There still is ripleys 5d theater. But in my opnion its a bit rough. The one that i thought was good was in barefoot landing it was a 7D theater but is no longer there

At intersection of 21st and Ocean Blvd, where you turn left at start of video, is that where the old Firebird Motor Inn used to be? The Grand Atlantic and Scooby's ice cream are there now. We stayed there many times in 70s and 80s and I've been trying to remember where it was exactly.

Just throwing this out there....would you be able to do something about the old Waccamaw Pottery and how it was? I spent what felt like years there as a kid yet somehow miss it (and the tram). It seems like next to no footage exist of the place in its glory.

I managed the cleaning contract at the Pottery and linen stores the last two years of their operation up to the day they locked the doors. It was really sad to see them close. Never understood why they closed since we were slammed with tourists and buses daily.

Just came back from there, first time visit. I was disappointed at how dirty the sand and water are, the constant helicopter noise, the beat up sidewalk and seedy environment of the place. Went to Pawleys Island beach afterwards it's much nicer and cleaner. Also visited nearby Georgetown, charming and great restaurants.

Some "vibes". Per capita, MB now has one of the highest crime rates in the Nation. A shame, I had owned a really nice place there until 08 and enjoyed so many things other than the traffic.

So, we just got back from there. Accommodations sucked, not dirty just very small. Beaches were clean, food was amazing, loved Broadway on the beach. Disappointed there was no authentic boardwalk, even tho they boast having one. Lot of areas seemed a little unsafe, I'll leave it there..Anyway, enjoyed REHOBOTH BEACH so much more. Cleaner, prettier with a long boardwalk to ride bikes and stuff. Been to many many beaches, MYRTLE has become one of my least favorite. Just my opinion. God bless
