Can you not use the phone built in camera ? 2. How are these effects (example : Dolly Zoom ) applied on a video ? Is it done again by the companion apps ?

got a Samsung S23 Ultra with a rather bulky but very sturdy case (not heavy), that is a bitch to remove and replace. which gimbal would you recommend, knowing that I'm NOT removing this case because a gimbal needs to balance itself against the phone's weight?

Thanks for this. I picked up an osmo 6, and that thing is SICK! Phenomenally capable! 14DF is still probably the best bang for the buck money of any kind I have ever spent, but it has a new competitor. And there is precious little competition.

Yes for 60fps you need an SSD but you can skip that by using black magic camera app so that it'll record in internal storage.

4k and 1080p refer to the resolution of the video. higher resolution = higher number = more detail = larger file. and fps means frames per second, which as the acronym explains - is the number of frames that make up an entire second. if you shoot at 30fps, one second of the video will contain 30 frames (30 individual images). the higher the number, the smoother the video. higher frame rates are very useful for slow motion. why? lets say you want to film something and then put it in 2x slow motion. with the normal 30fps, this would mean you have 15fps instead (2x slow motion = 1/2 the fps), resulting in a not so smooth video. however, shooting in 60fps, and then doing a 2x slow motion, 1/2 * 60fps = 30fps, meaning the slowed version of the video will look just as smooth as a normal 30fps video at normal speed. Hope i could help!

How often does the Hohem M6 overheat? How long to cool back down?

I have both the Hohem M6 and the insta360 flow. Unfortunately I’ve had to return the M6 to be replaced as the dial came loose and malfunctioned. I’ve been using the insta360 flow a lot more recently because of this. Hopefully I’ll have no issues with the replacement M6 which is on its way. Hohem support was really good at resolving the issue and offering the replacement.

@@izzyforeally the AI tracking is better on the 360 and it’s more portable. The M6 had a far greater range of movement and takes a heavier payload so is probably better if you have extra lenses or filters. The 360 flow works fine with the Rhode wireless mic. But no good with a shot gun mic. The Hohem app isn’t great at all. I never use it. But it works fine with other video apps.

My main concern when shopping around for a smartphone gimbal is I want one where I don't have to take my phone out of it's tough case. I have a DJI OM3 and it doesn't sit snug in the clamps unless I take it out of its case, that being said I don't want to accidentally drop my phone while the case isn't on

They are all great for vertical outside of the Hohem needing to be manually switched over compared to the others where you can hit a button and it automatically switches over. And yes our course covers it!

I just started shooting cars and wanted something to easily start filming. But after the end of the video, I'm not sure if my Pixel 6 will do the job. It can shoot well in both HD and 4K, but idk. I'll probably have to think more about it, as I'm still debating on either getting phone gimbal or just save up for a DJI pocket 3. As I would love to shoot car rollers one day in a moving vehicle or mount the cam to my car.

Yes these are all smartphone gimbals. I would get the whichever DJI gimbal fits into your budget from their site! Personally I use the DJI ronin s which is old but still works perfectly

I have a Galaxy Ultra 24 and I bought a DJI gimbal. When I got the gimbal I set it up only to find out that DJI and Galaxy do not communicate. This was about 3 years ago. So I gave the gimbal to my daughter who had a Apple phone. With that being said what would you recommend for an Ultra 24 what would be good with an the Ultra 24?

Thanks for an awesome video. Need some advice. I'm considering DJI and InstaFlow options you mentioned in your video but I've got a few concerns. I'm using Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra (I think I noticed you've got S23 in your videos which is almost the same), and I'm planning to use it with a tiny Boya bluetooth mic (I've got the one you showed in your other video) which is mandatory. I've also considered situations where I might want to add a small light to the setup. I saw some small lights that can be clipped on top and bottom of the mount. Would this setup be too heavy for the small ones you recommended? Also, one thing I was considering was occasionally using teleprompter app on Android like Bigvu. My concern is that I'd lose the auto-tracking function with the 2 cheaper options you recommended, since they require using their own app for that. So, I guess I'm left with HOHEM M6 then which would require carrying a bag with me I guess. Any advice would be much appreciated.
