Thanks for this. I picked up an osmo 6, and that thing is SICK! Phenomenally capable! 14DF is still probably the best bang for the buck money of any kind I have ever spent, but it has a new competitor. And there is precious little competition.

@saran3g I think it's the way the DJI app is built. It works perfectly for IOS, I used it with my 15 pro max and it work very well. When I switch to my S20 ultra, the vibe is completely different.

got a Samsung S23 Ultra with a rather bulky but very sturdy case (not heavy), that is a bitch to remove and replace. which gimbal would you recommend, knowing that I'm NOT removing this case because a gimbal needs to balance itself against the phone's weight?

They are all great for vertical outside of the Hohem needing to be manually switched over compared to the others where you can hit a button and it automatically switches over. And yes our course covers it!

Yes for 60fps you need an SSD but you can skip that by using black magic camera app so that it'll record in internal storage.

Thanks for an awesome video. Need some advice. I'm considering DJI and InstaFlow options you mentioned in your video but I've got a few concerns. I'm using Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra (I think I noticed you've got S23 in your videos which is almost the same), and I'm planning to use it with a tiny Boya bluetooth mic (I've got the one you showed in your other video) which is mandatory. I've also considered situations where I might want to add a small light to the setup. I saw some small lights that can be clipped on top and bottom of the mount. Would this setup be too heavy for the small ones you recommended? Also, one thing I was considering was occasionally using teleprompter app on Android like Bigvu. My concern is that I'd lose the auto-tracking function with the 2 cheaper options you recommended, since they require using their own app for that. So, I guess I'm left with HOHEM M6 then which would require carrying a bag with me I guess. Any advice would be much appreciated.

I want normal 3 axis gimbal with stick. And I watch yt videos like that one to save money, not to buy zoom button that does not work well and app that makes image shaking and that idiotic magnet mounting. I don't want to pay for that. Maybe you are rich parents kid and you didn't learn that good setup is also a setup that does not make you losing money.

These are all normal 3-axis gimbals and from my experience they are the best options for smartphones (I own all of the major brand options and these are my favorite). All of these gimbals work with android phones as well, just not the apps. It’s not my fault that the 3 most popular gimbal brands don’t create their apps for android. In fact it’s actually the android phones fault. Samsung in particular doesn’t give app developers full control over the camera so these brands aren’t able to fully create the apps like they want to for android

All you need to do is mount the phone on the gimbal, turn it on, and boom it will perfectly stabilize your videos (which is the main function of a gimbal) The negative aspect of using an android is that instead of using the button on the gimbal to start and stop recording, you instead have to hit the record button on the actual phone which is not the end of the world. Professionals buy gimbals to stabilize their footage, and these gimbals will do exactly that no matter what phone you have. The app features are all extras that 90% of people will never use.

A waste of money if you're planning on adding a Cage and ND Filters. Most Gimbals (featured here) are only capable of maneuvering 300g. If you're Shooting for that "Cinematic Effect", you're going to end up adding weight. It's Best to Move Up out of the $200 to $300 Range and get yourself a DSLR Gimbal.

I have both the Hohem M6 and the insta360 flow. Unfortunately I’ve had to return the M6 to be replaced as the dial came loose and malfunctioned. I’ve been using the insta360 flow a lot more recently because of this. Hopefully I’ll have no issues with the replacement M6 which is on its way. Hohem support was really good at resolving the issue and offering the replacement.

@@izzyforeally the AI tracking is better on the 360 and it’s more portable. The M6 had a far greater range of movement and takes a heavier payload so is probably better if you have extra lenses or filters. The 360 flow works fine with the Rhode wireless mic. But no good with a shot gun mic. The Hohem app isn’t great at all. I never use it. But it works fine with other video apps.

My main concern when shopping around for a smartphone gimbal is I want one where I don't have to take my phone out of it's tough case. I have a DJI OM3 and it doesn't sit snug in the clamps unless I take it out of its case, that being said I don't want to accidentally drop my phone while the case isn't on
