Heck, I know it's not the same category of cars, but comparing the W205 C63S, 510-hp Twin Turbo V8, with the 680-hp W206 C63S...newer one has nearly 200 hp more but weighs...what, half a ton more? Damn hybrid system negates any power advantage. And let's not forget the downsizing...dropping from a 4.0L twin turbo V8 to a 2.0L Turbo inline-4... *tsk tsk* 😑

The stability and low noise at high speeds is amazing. Acceleration in "real world" conditions 5.6s very good for what it is. But that interior when you were driving in the autobahn...isn't it a bit distracting? I know you can change it but the mode you had on is a bit too much for me.

Mein aktueller ist ein 730d G11 *ohne* x-Drive. Gutes Ansprechverhalten, ausreichend Bums untenrum, dreht schön aus, fährt sich dank Integral-Aktivlenkung (für diese Fahrzeugklasse) unglaublich dynamisch, fährt auch absolut stabile und gelassene 260 km/h, kann mit unter 5l/100 km bewegt werden und hab schon über 1.450 km auf einen Tank bewerkstelligt. In meinen Augen sind die 7er richtige Alleskönner, von Sport bis Komfort bei maximalem Luxus

Seems like a very nice car for the autobahn. Controversial looks of the exterior are completely compensated by the interior imo. Feels really cozzy with all of this ambient lighting inside. And since it's diesel economy won't kill you I guess.

I'd go for this one cos it's a diesel and it's got enough power to take you there. It's my 520d that made me understand that I don't need a super car or a sports car as it had more that enough power for what it is. And this one is way more powerful than my 520d and I guess it's a better choice than its petrol and electric siblings. It does 0-100 km/h in 5.61 while my e60 520d does it in 8.5 seconds so from my point of view this cruise ship is way quicker than my 520d by a very big margin.

it has much better efficiency than your 15year old 5 series. Plus more torque, horsepower and a better gearbox etc. . So even if it might weight more, these are the reasons why such stats are possible.

Its actually rising. This is basically 730d but for marketing purposes theyve changed the name to 740d.

@@lw2537 5 series also gets 40d, and 7 series also had the 40d already. I think the difference is single turbo (normally 30d) vs twin turbo (normally 40d). So the single turbo is now called the 40d on the 7er. At least what I found on wikipedia a couple days ago.

if its 740i, especially its a B58 engine, tuning possibilities are endless, with a tune B58 can hit 450-500hp depending on which variant of the B58

Das Exterieur ist grässlich, ich weiss nicht wie man das bei BMW durchwinken konnte. Zu der Leistung: schon lange keine 6-Zylinder BMW Limousine gesehen, die so Mühe hatte die 250 zu knacken. Interieur auch sehr unruhig - nur weil man etwas kann, heisst das nicht, dass man es auch machen sollte :) Könnte mir keinen James Bond mehr in einem 7er vorstellen...

The interior isn't even that bad, but it's unappealing. Soulless. Exterior, especially the front grille is horrible. When you see it in live, it's even worse. Last generation (G11/G12) was the final proper 7er.

Nope G11/G12 was overrated due to its sportiness that people actually want in a big car, which makes the reason the w223 being an overrated S class,sporty in a sense that it doesn’t feel like a bank vault like the w221 and w222, S class may look better but it’s interior quality is such an eyesore with the plastics it has inside the interior, and most importantly, shit reliability unlike the old Mercedes which brings their reputation of “reliable luxury”

Acceptable acceleration up to 100 km/h considering 300hp fighting against 2.3 tons. Beside the whole luxus on board, this car is just ugly in my eyes. Seeing the display makes you feel watching avatar....

Engine is way too weak if you use it as a drivers car. If you take your seat in the back... it is perfect. Comfy, silent and smooth. But as a drivers car, i would like to have a V8, 4Liter with at least 450PS and 900nm. Everything above 10 sec. 100-200 is not satisfying as a daily.... but that's only my 50 cents
