I got a lil choked up, I have 2 97s one with, 297k 5.2 v8 and one with 68k with factory 5.9 v8 and have had six others ranging from 94 to 98 by far the most comfy most capable and have the most power of all jeeps and my favorite vehicle to drive daily and to bash in the woods every chance I get, my commute to the highway starts with ten miles of rough trails to avoid all traffic, roads and people it's the best way to start my day and unwind on the way home

I own 2 '98 4.0 zjs, one is a limited. The Laredo has 293,000 miles on it and I drive it almost every day. Everything works on both vehicles and I have around $6,000 invested in them combined. THE best vehicle ever assembled

Just got a 1993 Limited V8 with only 165k. It's in mint condition for 27 years. All original. One owner since new and garage kept. Old man bought new at dealership. Rustproofing regularly since day one. Everything works still even the cassette deck and rear wiper. Interior is pristine. The leather is so soft and comfortable. Better than any vehicle today by far. If someone who was there to build it you can go to your grave knowing one of your creations still lives. Also have a 5.9 Limited in mint condition too that's daily driver for teenage son. Anyone who says that Jeep has reliability issues doesn't know how to take care of a vehicle. Would never buy anything othan than a Grand Cherokee. Have six in family today. Best vehicle ever in snow. All reviews should be done in winter worst case scenario. Then see who wants a KIA lol.

I bought my 93 Jeep 4x4 6 cylinder brand new and still have it today 157,000 miles on it, I also get good gas mileage 19-20 in town and 23-26 on highway, the secret to that is don't baby them the harder you push it the better the mileage. Been thru 2 radiators, 2 batteries and 1 set of brakes and don't slam it in PARK just go easy. One problem I have is windsheild wiper fluid must be full most of time if not the red light comes on and car will act stupid and not want to run, easy fix. I bought the Boxy style so no one can tell how old it is, holds the road great in high winds, also great in snow, really LOVE this car. Made in the USA!!

My 1993 has made it 227k miles. The engine died but I kept it and plan on making it a 4.7 stroker for a project. The suspension and u-joints are original with no slop, the transmission was rebuilt after all the internals were discentigrated but it kept shifting. I also replaced the battery harness with a NOS Mopar one. Me and my Jeep have been through a lot together since being bought in 1995, and I'll never part with it. GO JEEP!!!

I still see these zj grand cherokees on the road in 2024. Jeeps back in the 1990s had better quality than today's jeeps, i dont think the new jeeps wont last as long as the older ones such as the ZJ and WJ Jeeps. The new ones will probably be in the junkyard within 5 to 10 years while these older ones will still be going strong. Ever since chrysler merged with Daimler and then fiat the quality has gone downhill since

No that's not true at all. AMC designed the whole damn vehicle and had it ready to start production in 88 but they got into money trouble so they put production on hold and in 1992 they amc sold out to Chrysler who then tweaked a few things and put some finishing touches on it and released it under the Chrysler name. Jeep is still owned by Chrysler and the ZJ was the first Jeep to be sold as a Chrysler product
