Martin Short is an American treasure along with Miss Peters. The Goodbye Girl is delicious. Such a blend of so many talents. I wish all the Broadway gifts were brought back. We need to bring our country back to fun, talent and laughter. We need it more than ever. Thank you for making me sky.

You must've been watching something else. This was PAINFUL...all the 'laughs' fell short, pun intended.

@@corinarodriguez1723 Both are huge talents, but this was a misfire. Short is mugging waaaay too much, the dance doesn't work...just not up to par IMO.

These two are so good, I think the problem was the show was really super hyped up and when it didn't quite live up to that, people were more dismissive of it than if they had realistic expectations. It seems very sweet and Martin Short is putting his whole heart into all of it.

I wish I could see more of this musical. I love the CD, especially the song he sings to the daughter. Who would have the coursge to sing at an auditin "I think I can play this part"?

Deservedly obscure. Bernadette Peters is a magnificent theatre goddess, but has she ever been in a more boring role than this generic girlfriend playing second fiddle to Martin Short, her inferior in both dancing and singing? Eesh. For completionists only.

Oh she is an incredible dancer and singer. Watch the numbers she did on the Carol Burnett Show. Man, can she tap! Maybe this show doesn't show it too good, I don't know I haven't seen it fully
