I hope someone called 911 on you……. Because getting 9,500 MSL over Elsinore and then not making it more than half way across Canyon lake is a ….. CRIME 🙃 You actually landed in the lot above my friend Chris’s house. That may have been me in the sailplane (if it had a red, white and blue starburst paint pattern). Hope you have been back since then and gotten a little more XC. Highest thermal I have gotten there in Elsinore in a HG was 17,000 MSL over Tuscany Hills about 1-2 miles NW of where you landed, and 18,000 (17,999 for the FAA) in a sailplane over the Elsinore outlets center, but that was in Wave lift (in December).
