The scene is so cathartic. Imagine being so blindingly determined to do something, and then being in denial that you made the wrong choice. After finally accepting he made a mistake, he finds he has a chance to fix his mistake, and the fix had come from a part of himself all along. And in the moment he has the email in front of him, it’s like he has the power of god in his hands. The power this guy wields is incredible at points in this show, he is like a superman.

He's not like Superman. If Elliot was he would have been there for all his friends. Instead all of them were killed. In fact that's one of my biggest flaws of the show was that Elliot wasnt a hero. The writers made him too flawed to be one. But I still love the show.

They show a scene from the first Christopher Reeve Superman movie. Specifically, it’s after the earthquake, and Superman spins around the planet so fast, that it causes the earth to rotate in the opposite direction, which causes time to reverse itself and undo some of the damage from the earthquake. Also a side note; the Steganography method in which Mr Robot embedded the seed data and algorithm in the file is an image of Elliot and his father dressed up as Marty McFly and Doc Brown from Back to the Future. The writing is just so incredible in this show. Very apt indeed

It also makes Elliot's actions in this scene parallel Whiterose's (and later Angela's) attempts to reverse death. Superman reverses time in the scene on the teleivison precisely because Lois Lane has just died. Whiterose is shown as delusional for thinking she can reverse death so it's perplexing thematically. It makes one wonder what distinguishes Elliot.

@Nymerys The say I see this is that Elliot realises the 5/9 hack was never going to work because it never attacked the power structures and dynamics that happen behind all these debts. We saw from the aftermath of 5/9 that it didn't help people, because the institutions in power made it the people's problem once more. And Elliot's (or I guess MM) goal was to actually help people, hence why he feels so miserable about this. In real life, we don't need a Mr. Robot. When has any revolution or protest ever needed ONE person to make it happen? It's always been that we need each other, we need a community. Fsociety didn't rally the common people it intended to protect. It incited fear in them and actively made their lives worse. That's why Fsociety failed to take down Ecorp and the 1% of the 1%. They failed to attack the root. When Elliot and Darlene take down the Deus Group, THAT is the kind of thing that actually attacked the root, because it took power away from those in power. But it's also too fictional, in real life no mysterious hacker will just find a way to drain the money of the elite like that, just like in real life, there is no Whiterose manipulating real life events for some grand scheme. Yeah, Sam Esmail is kind of telling us that something like 5/9 doesn't work, on a personal but also a political level. The people in power will find a way to turn tragedies into their own benefit, just look at the pandemic and which corporations turned the biggest profit during it. If your goal is to help the people, you can't do it over their heads as if playing God, you need to make the people cooperate for their liberty. But also, 5/9 was just the lashing out of an extremely angry person who was full of rage against the world and falsely believed one singular act like that could fix the world at its core. Just look at the last episode: "What if changing the world was just about being here, by showing up no matter how many times we get told we don’t belong, by staying true even when we’re shamed into being false, by believing in ourselves even when we’re told we’re too different? And if we all held on to that, if we refuse to budge and fall in line, if we stood our ground for long enough, just maybe… The world can’t help but change around us."

The ending to Season 4 was amazing, but something about this ending to Season 3 never ceases to make me get goosebumps watching it back. I think Intro by M83 was the perfect song for this scene, it really just captures the moment of Mr. Robot and Elliot finally working together with each other, no fights or disagreements, simply realizing that reversing 5/9 was what was needed to be done. Props to Sam Esmail for this show as a whole along with this ending scene, it’s cinematic and perfectly well-made.

When Elliot scrolled to the top of the email (to ensure he copied the whole key) before hitting send is makes this show truly stand out. The whole production team did an amazing job in sprinkling in small details like that throughout the whole series. Truly an experience you have to watch multiple times...I am on another rewatch and find myself surprised on how much I missed on my first viewing!

I always knew... when he said 'I jumped... I wasn't pushed... did you know that?', with the M83 Intro, it was the start of re-integration. Elliott, Mr- Robot, and as we know... MasterMind, had to have truth to start the re-integration process. And full integration completed with M83 Outro. Easily the best written series I've ever seen. I've watched it 10x start-to-finish and I still find things that I missed in earlier viewings.

Its just the little things about the show. The insane minute detail in the writing that really lets you dive into the world and get to know the characters on a very personal level. Like when you find out Trenton named herself after her little brothers birth place. How that connects to Elliot not committing suicide. To Trenton and Mobley ACTUALLY being forced to suicide. Its genius. Take it further, Trentons brother was her purpose for hacking. He was also Elliots purpose to continue living. And then Trenton and Mobley being part of White Rose/Mr Robot's bigger respective purposes.

I find myself replaying over and over as Mr. Robot confesses that Elliot has been a part of him and exporting the keys is was what Elliot would have done, and that he couldn't reveal as much as it was not in his nature. He narrates the truth of how those keys were exported, and how to recover the decryption key, by extracting the entropy and seeds from the images, to finally see that RSA Private Key. Knowing a bit about how this all works, seeing that key print out decrypted along with the music is just perfect. Truly amazing acting, editing, and musical performance. Wow.

When Mr Robot said "undoing the hack? Who's going to help? " and Elliot said "me", you can see Mr Robot instantly stopped arguing. Because it's one of the few time The Mastermind is speaking about how to heal himself and that's what MR Robot want. Guys during the whole show, Mr Robot is the good guy. The Elliot we saw was kinda...the villain in a way.

I see a parallel in this: Mr. Robot tells Elliot to use the title of a photo of a good memory with Elliot's dad as a key to cancel the 5/9 operation as if it never happened Previously, Mr. Robot used good memories with Elliot's father to override Elliot's bad memories with him, as if the bad things Elliot's father (born 5/9!) did never happened. (As we know Mr. Robot was a key to all Elliot's memories) P.S. Him knowing he jumped is one dangerous step closer to him knowing the horrible truth. Coupled with the themes of reversal and turning back time, the show is showing scorched earth not being the end all be all…. But getting one step closer every time the world implodes.
