The Real Elliot wakes up in Krista's office. He is finally ready to hear the truth. The truth about everything.
From Mr Robot Season 4 Episode 13 "Hello Elliot" Elliot hides the alternate Elliot's body in a storage container, intent on taking the alternate Elliot's place and marrying Angela. A police officer, Dominique, attempts to arrest Elliot after she discovers the alternate Elliot's body. Elliot escapes to Coney Island, where he discovers that there was no wedding. Mr. Robot explains to Elliot that the world they are in is not the parallel world Whiterose spoke of, but rather an illusion created by Elliot with the intention of keeping "the real Elliot" trapped. Bewildered and confused, Elliot wakes up in Krista's office. Krista (who is a manifestation of Elliot's mind at this point) explains that the Elliot we have known since the beginning of the series is not the real Elliot, but a persona called "The Mastermind" that the real Elliot created to deal with his rage and anger at the world. However, this persona decided to take over and trapped the real Elliot in the Utopian world, getting rid of Darlene, who is the real Elliot's strongest connection to reality; Krista explains that the Mastermind must give control back to the real Elliot, but he refuses as the world collapses. The Mastermind wakes up in the hospital, where Darlene reveals that Whiterose is dead, her machine was destroyed, and she knew that the Mastermind had taken over. Accepting his identity, the Mastermind returns to Elliot's mind with the rest of his personas. The real Elliot wakes up in the hospital and is greeted by Darlene.

What I love most about this show is that it's about a deeply damaged individual, who feels so alone and desperate that he literally constructs people and personalities to be there for him. In my opinion there's something very profound about that, how the human condition naturally tries to find strength even through overwhelming weakness.

what I find difficult to understand is that Elliot has all these personalities with different motives and probably different passions, how can he focus for a passion in a skill of one personality and then focus on a passion for another skill on a totally different one? that's the part of the fiction I guess because alas the human brain although capable but is limited by its own resources

This series is a masterpiece. The way in Mr. Robot character changed from being a leader, father, enemy and ally to an Elliot's guardian angel is just insane... I remember when 4th season was released and I sat with my highschool friends and theorize about the 3rd personality and how the finale will look like but none of us could ever predict how crazy it was after all. This is still the most underrated series I know.

Dark is bland and extremely repetitive in comparison to Mr Robot. The acting, the dialogue, the plot of Mr Robot is unique and comes together beautifully whereas Dark is random and just abandons the its premis it built to go in a different direction in S3. I have Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID), and I must say that Mr. Robot offers the most accurate portrayal of DID I've seen in Hollywood so far. It’s refreshing to see a media representation that handles the disorder with such care. DID is often misunderstood and rarely visible to those around us. In fact, most people with DID don’t show noticeable signs, and even close friends or family might not be aware when 'switching' between alters occurs. It takes trauma-informed therapists, who are specially trained, to truly identify and treat DID effectively. I'm grateful to the writers, actors, and creators of this show for their thoughtful work, which contributes to destigmatizing mental health conditions like DID. It’s important to approach this with nuance rather than the exaggerated portrayals often seen online. Let’s continue to support media that helps bring awareness and understanding to conditions that are so often hidden.

This would have been a very challenging show to write. The DID is revealed in the 8th episode of the first season and the show didn't mind if we figured it out before it was revealed. And then in the second season we learn that the reality that the mastermind presents us with isn't always if ever a literal interpretation of what's going on... I don't know why most viewers seem to forget this and proceed to take everything we hear and see as it's presented to us (especially the Angela White Rose scene and the Elliot White Rose scene). And then there are over a dozen references to parallel realities, but most viewers assume that this is in reference to White Rose's project alone, yet there are so many lines throughout that mirror one another (there are at least a couple of characters who mirror one another, who use the identical phrases etc, I highly doubt it's due to lazy writing). It's challenging to open up all those possibility, yet make the reality that's presented to the viewers believable enough to keep them engaged, otherwise it's like watching a dream sequence that they know is a dream sequence. It ultimately doesn't matter if in the end if what we observed was real or not whether partially or fully as long as it's able to make us believe that it is and the show does an amazing job at making us believe it despite these layers that they reveal to us. Something like Fight Club for example... we don't know the twist until the end. This show reveals that twist in the beginning, but then there's other stories and other twists (some of which slowly get revealed throughout) that keep us engaged. A show that failed miserably at doing this is the show Legion. I see it as a cautionary tale. It's a show that deals with mental illness (psychosis/schizophrenia), but they completely show their hand in the first episode and make the visual realities so grandiose that it's 100% without any shadow of a doubt a figment of the main characters (David) imagination. In the first episode they even show the visual reality through the video camera that's recording what the room sees vs. what David sees. I only made it through the 5th episode, but it's essentially like watching a hours of a dream sequence (over 20 hours worth) that you know and have been told is a dream sequence. The cinematography and everything is awesome, however it was one of the most boring viewing experiences I've ever endured, because I/we know it's all in David's head. I guess it may work on some viewers if they can dupe themselves into believing Davids grandiose reality is what's potentially happening... I tried my hardest to dupe myself into believing it, so I could enjoy the show, but the show doesn't ever give us the option. I thought maybe I could grab onto the super hero element (which isn't my thing, but at least it's something), so I wouldn't have to hold the standards of the show to a realistic reality, which apparently it's supposed to be based on (it appears to have been a marketing gimmick, because they certainly don't commit to that reality either). To me that show is the perfect example of what not to do, when dealing with subject matter in this realm.

I really like spoilers in the video titles on this channel, although most people complain about them. Most shows used to disappoint me with their finale and and it wasn't worth watching them. Since then, I prefer to know spoilers. They let me skip dissatisfying shows and at the same time they don't spoil impression of really great shows

i like to think that we are the real elliot, hear me out. he refers to us and talks to us as his friend throughout the show, despite us being unable to talk back. the theatre scene in the end shows all the personalities watching back the show (elliot’s memories.) i believe that he’s showing these memories to the “real” elliot which is us.

This is easily my favorite show of all time. My sister saw an ad for it and said Elliot reminded her of me (hoodied IT guy). I was honored to have watched it while it was still coming out. I got introduced just after season 3 started. From writing, acting, the score by Mac Quayle, it is all a modern masterpiece of entertainment, and the most technical accurate show/movie regarding cybersecurity and hacking. My only regret is only being able to see it for the first time once.

this series is a philosophical problem, every season you are given a premise, the world is drawn out and the protagonist tries to provide a solution to it. the very next season the very solution from the previous season becomes the problem. I dont think on a purely creative and logical sense there has been better in depth writing that this show. I have seen many series in which, the characters stay constant, characters evolve, the world stays constant, the world evolves. but to maintain a dialogue over seasons and also evolving characters and writing, no series comes close. and over 4 seasons gosh this series is so personal to me on so many levels

This is a Masterpiece Seeing Elliot realizing that he was the hiding-Personality the Whole time Krisa could not figure it out Elliot had made the ▪︎mastermind before his Hack too Save the World but what makes this so good is the fact the mastermind and Mr.robot in this loop of reality the Master made Elliots mom,kid elliot a Personality but mr.Robot had too cover it all up from mastermind his DID and losing memories but the Mastermind was getting vengeance vs Mr.robot helping mastermind cope with being Elliot S2. Elliot vs Mr.robot battle for control They had battle of chess also but •MR.ROBOT had too Fix Elliot reality making mastermind believe he is Elliot Thats why Elliot forgot Darlene was his sister, who Mr.robot was etc *Elliot-Mastermind had Filp his reality to have Faith with the Hack But the Elliot and Angela weeding revealed it us first S1 now S4 ,Angela and Darlene new something was different with Elliot when he started forgetting Darlene, his father death, etc etc

This was almost well done, except for the fact, when Elliot was having withdrawals for his addiction in season 1 or 2, he was about to enter the house where the druggies were at, and the person guarding the front was like: "Oh no, only 1 of you can go in..." and Elliot was apparently by himself according to producers, as the guy he was hallucinating (D-Identity disorder) about, was his dead dad.

I was so HAPPY that the show didn't follow the ''alternate reality'' route of Whiterose and went full sci-fi at the end. That would've ruined the entire show. I was afraid for a moment they were jumping the shark. The show can trick you so perfectly well where you struggle to think of other options where the story might go. They managed to make it a story of ''it was all in his head.'' But it actually all happened. The emotional stakes were valid, the characters actually died, the consequences were real etc.

"Krista never quite figured it out, did she? She never realized she wasn't talking to the real Elliot." Beautiful writing, as it can also be interpreted to be meant about us ("them"). Also I love how this is set up so it's "Krista" talking about Krista and the actress talking about her character in a sort of meta way.

After the finale you should all rewatch Elliot and Mr Robot discussion on the season 2 finale in the building with Tyrell. Mr robot push the hack so Mastermind could leave Elliot mind when it was done. When Mastermind realised that stage 2 is gonna kill many people, Mr robot hide that so this information could not trigger the "savior vigilante" persona to take more control on Elliot mind
