Great reactions to Nightwish. I watched all of your video reactions to Nightwish and enjoyed seeing how much you enjoyed them as so many of us have. Floor has such a beautiful powerful voice with an incredible dynamic range. She has become my all time favorite singer and Nightwish is the band I would most like to see live. I hope to attend a concert here in the USA in 2020. The headbanging you so much enjoy, I also admire her stage presence in the way the moves and sways to the music as well. Discovered them about 2 years ago. Really didn't think someone could actually sound this good live. I was wrong. Went to a concert and it was really something else. Took my 18 year old son who doesnt really listen to this stuff and halfway through first song I asked what did he think and his response was "this is fu@$&%# awesome"...as he watched with a puzzled look on his face.

That "Bull-Head" is the symbol of Wacken Open Air(WOA), a Metal festival held the first week of August each year in a village of 1800 where up to 190 bands play over 9 stages for 3 or 4 days. It is one of the great Meccas of Metal and the place where any metal of any reputation wants to play. Only 82,000 tickets are sold to keep it manageable and they go on sale the day after the festival closes and sell out in less than 24 hours. So yeah 80,000+ metal-heads were under the Valkyrie Goddess's control this night from the main stage and man did she have a coming out party having just been made a member of the band!!!!She is the 3rd and LAST vocalist of Nightwish, if she ever left we would storm Finland to get to the band and then Sweden where she lives with her husband and daughter. This is the one of the GOLD standards to judge this band and LIVE at Wacken you don't get any better than this. She growls but you have to hear the Banshee Scream of Terror at the end of Romanticide (kzbin.info/www/bejne/sKvCaIJ5eLafjtU) and then Ghost River (kzbin.info/www/bejne/ZmbImqeaYqp0bKs) both heavier metal songs that she and Marco nail again at Wacken...like we said one of the best concerts ever!! OMG that was the best Floorgasm I have seen.. I am really worried that you will end up injured during one of Floor's songs, let's think about some soft padding in the room and floor next time you are going to blast Floor over your speakers (LMAO)!!!!!!!!!!

I had never heard of Nightwish, stumbled upon them a few days ago, must’ve watched 100 or so reactions to this video, Floor is incredible, the drummer is out of this world crazy good, the bass guitar is fucking awesome, and damn he can sing too, the rhythm/lead guitar is mental, and the keyboard guy is just so in tune with everything. This is a great band. I’ve watched the entire Wacken concert, it’s an absolute spectacle. I hope they come to Scotland, I will definitely be going.

Just FYI, that’s about 70 minutes into the show and Floor had been killin’ it the whole way already. Also, that’s 82 THOUSAND people hanging on her every note; so, no pressure on her to Bury that high note.... At 6’1 and 170 pounds Floor is a smiling, singing, dancing, enchanting, stage commanding Valkyrie; and to me at least, a gift from above. Seeing the whole video of this concert, Especially the Floorgasm changed my life. It made me start listening to music again. I love watching these reaction videos and my biggest hope is that people follow and enjoy the Symphonic Metal path I was led to. Welcome to it. FYI Floor is now in a Dutch tv show called "Beste Zangers" (Best vocalists). The program consists of 7 vocalists in total. Every week one person is the guest of honor and the other vocalist will sing a cover or a song that the person has a special connection with. This week the guest was Henk Poort a very famous Dutch musical and opera singer. Floor of-course put on her opera voice with a little bit of symphonic metal twist. :-) here is the clip. @

Yours is an Empty Hope (cruise or Wembley), 7 Days to the Wolves (Wembley), so many good songs ahead of you! Not to mention the whole Wacken 2013 concert (heck, all their live concerts) is amazing. It's worth watching the whole thing once you have reacted to the songs just to see the level of sustained excellence and effort they have live, and seeing how the songs interplay with each other in the setlist order.

The Festival they're playing at here is Wacken Open Air (the longhorns are their logo) and it's the biggest metal festival in the world with well over 120k people there. It's in Germany on farmlands in a small village called Wacken :)

From Floor's first band (After Forever) I recommend Monolith of Doubt (live or studio) and The Evil That Men Do (live cover Iron Maiden). From her second band (Revamp) she does some nice aggression on Disdain. For Nightwish (and always check out the live videos), she does growls on Yours is an Empty Hope (live on Baltic Princess). Weak Fantasy (live at Tampere) and Shudder Before the Beautiful (live at Wembley) are also heavy. Romanticide (live at Wacken 2013) is really aggressive also. That is just a small sampling. For more epic, Poet and the Pendulum or 7 Days to the Wolves from Wembley, and Greatest Show on Earth from Tampere, or Last Ride of the Day from Wacken 2013. We'll talk about Epica and Within Temptatoin another day...

So, welcome to Nightwish, and Floor Jansen, the Dutch Viking Goddess of Metal. People claim she's a vocalist but she plays two instruments: the crowd, and your emotions. She plays 'em like a fiddle. This song Ghost Love Score is considered the entry to 'the three masterpieces'. The second is Poet and the Pendulum, which is Tuomas writing his deep, near suicidal depression and tearing emotions into a 14 m masterpiece, that saved the band. Then there is their Opus Magnum: The Greatest Show On Earth, a 21 minute masterpiece that makes the journeys Ghost and Poet take you on feel like walks around the park. The song is about the creation of Earth and the evolution of all life, and is, IMO, one of the greatest pieces of modern music ever written, on par with Bohemian Rhapsody, One and November Rain. Floor is the third singer for Nightwish, and they're on record saying that she'll be the last singer they'll ever have. Because, honestly, where can you go after this ....
