I was 12 in 1962 and this Creme lure is what you wanted, I even fished it at night and showed some oldtimers a new trick back then with it. Thanks , great video !!!

When I was a kid, my father would water a section of the lawn. Then waited until dark. He had an electric probe that used household electric and would stick it in the ground and the worms came out of the ground and that's how we got out worms. Manns was another worm/plastic company. We used the stingray grubs for gator seatrout in the Delaware Bay.

Thinking about doing an episode on nightcrawlers. I never shocked them, but I've seen it done.

Yes, Tom Mann added fruit jelly to his plastic worm batter. He said it masked the human scent. This was after the Creme worm though.

@@ShawnKimbro There are all kinds of worms out there besides the old standard night crawlers and bloodworms. There's green worms, lug worms, trout worms, etc.

Not an expert at anything but humility....this was a great story. I don't know how you do your research but this is a story that is very entertaining. Thanks.

Great story. Oh the memories of the bass I caught on that creme worm!! A good friend and fellow bass fisherman of Bill dance by the name of Stan Marriott introduced the Texas rig to Bill. Bill Dance then made the Texas rig a staple for all fisherman via media and television. Nobody seems to know who actually created Texas rigging a soft plastic but I think it's safe to say Bill Dance is responsible for it becoming a secret weapon for all fisherman.

Another great story, keep 'em coming. It stirs memories of learning that Akron, Ohio was the rubber capital of the world in elementary school in the early 50's. May have even been a question in final exam in geography

When you mentioned Tyler,Texas the first thing that came to my mind was Earl Campbell.Anyhow i got to thinking about Tyler,Texas being famous for Roses 🌹.U also have football 🏈 on my mind, because of Earl Campbell and Tyler Texas. So i got to wondering how did Pasadena, California have a stadium called the Rose Bowl? Seems to me Tyler, Texas should of been the home to a famous Stadium and the Grandaddy of all football 🏈 games the Rose Bowl.I know this is supposed to be about fishing and i apologize for commenting about this.

Ha ha... good observation. Tyler, Texas still claims to be rose capital and they'll host their 91st annual Rose Festival this year.
