@@carultch while the joke of it was meant to seem like that, his brother doesn't think that at all. Whay gives it away is when Daniel said "I'd knew you'd understand." They're brothers, while not twins they have a special tie to each other regardless and Frank knew well enough what his brother was up to. Otherwise if he did think that and Daniel got caught, he'd feel so betrayed. The kid show scene also gave it away that it's a bait and switch, because after Daniel got caught he as Mrs. Doubtfire announced him as a guest on the kid show.

He's not crossing his eyes when he sings, he's defocusing his eyes so he doesn't look directly into the camera lens. It's pretty amazing how perfectly they were able to integrate Robin Williams' style of comedy into this role. It would be off-putting if he was making all these jokes if he was just a normal guy around normal people, but the fact that he's an entertainer around entertainment people lets you believe that this is how they would actually act around each other in real life, and it's hilarious.

Also here's the quote off IMDb: Daniel : What about Joan Collins? Frank : Oh, I don't think I have the strength. But I have some plaster.

He said “strings” not “strength” referring to the moment earlier when they used strings to pull back Robin’s face. The joke is that Joan Collins has had so much plastic surgery that no amount of strings will make Robin look like her.

I remember coming home everyday from school and eagerly anticipating watching this. I absolutely loved and still love this movie. In terms of comedy this was hands down his best film. R.I.P. Robin Williams

Funny how this scene follows his first phone call as Mrs. Doubtfire, he'd already established her as an older Scottish woman!

Yeah, it would've gone a lot quicker if he simply did the voice so they could make the look that matched it.

Rule of Funny…if you had Robin Williams as your star wouldn’t you let him have free rein, knowing that you could never write anything as funny as what this man came up with off the top of his head?

I thought he was just fooling around with voices that matched the looks he was trying, kinda just like his character was having fun. Idk. He's playing an actor and that's what I thought as a kid. My 8-year-old mind lmao
