Hi Harry - my daughter got me your book for my birthday (as I do a bit of photography & am getting into 4wd’ing). I’m not a cook at all, but unlike other barbecue etc books, your recipe’s are practical and simple and perfect for the likes of me. Love the channel as well. Might see you at the Perth Show if I can get there. Cheers, Steve

Harry, we watched this morning and then made it twice because it was so bloody awesome the first time. This is an amazing dish. We did do it on the stove top so can only imaging how good it would be on the fire. Thanks

Have been making this, served with rice rather than potato hash, for a long time and agree that it's great, esp if you can get the eggs cooked right. It might have been good to acknowledge the source of the recipe that you've taken the key ideas and ingredients from? That would be the great Kylie Kwong, who's uncle's mother was the eponymous Mrs Jang and who published the recipe in one of her popular cookbooks back in 2003.
@IanTriggs Жыл бұрын
Nice one! This is a recipe I learnt from Kylie Kwong years back and I reckon the chilli in this is the best hangover cure I have. I'd recommend including the white pepper - the way it mixed with the oyster sauce is something special. On a side note, oyster sauce isn't a femented product, but a simmered one. I'm going to have to give this one a go on the hash!

Made it for breakfast this morning and it was great, so thanks for the recipe and the excellent video, as always. I gotta say, my favourite breakfast is your 'Smoky Bush Bagels'. I use kaiserfleisch that I cut myself, so it's thick, and add some grilled haloumi and sriracha sauce. Have that at least three times a week. Thanks again.

Harry, Check Aldi at Oktoberfest time, they have a hashbrowny thing in a packet that is dried potato and possibly some other veg for good measure and has a shelf life of about 2 years (too scared to see how that happens) which I buy a bunch of and keep in my dry goods box for camping trips. a fresh 'tater is probably way better but after a big night, being able to toss this in the frypan and add some bacon and eggs is a great way to recover. The addition of the fresh ingredients i am sure will give it that kick that gets the day started ! Will give that recipe a shot on the next 4WD trip (easy on the chilli to prevent frequent stops during the day ;-) ).

Definitely trying this! Always looking for GF tasty food. Do yourself a favourite Harry & get yourself some Solidteknics (not sure on spelling haha) gear. Aussie made, it will last for generations & you can use from kitchen to fire 🔥 Non stick without the crappy coated stuff that probably isn’t good for anyone anyway. Expensive but lasts forever if you look after them, love love love mine! (Similar to cast iron but no where near as heavy)

I thunk it has been 7 mins since I finished this video, and i have my own version beside me, its fantastic. I used sriracha bc the only chili I have right now are habaneros, which I love fresh at breakfast butnit was more than I wanted today. Youre right, we do gwt weird about oyster sauce, and I havebit and use it all the time, but this is such a delicious dish! Thanks for sharing

Rumny yolk is fine but I'm not so keen on runny white which is how Dorothy eats eggs. Half boiled with soy sauce and white pepper mixed in.
@KarlEller3 жыл бұрын
Trying to find that fine line between the white being properly cooked but the yolk being nicely runny is so tricky. I also have absolutely no idea why runny white makes me want to gag, but runny yolk is the best thing ever.
