Mr Salles, I am perplexed about the quote "- yes, grandfather's boat - safe" because my teacher says that it is about the pilot's father (not him anymore) due to the lines/ stanza before that: the pilot "remembered how he and his brothers waiting on the shore [...] bringing their father's boat safe". If you can help, please, help me with this query, sir. I could not thank you enough. And as always - you are such a great teacher and I am grateful for what you have done to generations of students.

@@therivernile1993 kamikaze? how? checking out me history is about the mockery of British culture throughout the dialect whilst talking about his own culture in a formal and professional way, conveying that the British suppress other cultures. Kamikaze is reflects the immense social pressure brought to bear on the pilots to carry out kamikaze missions as part of Japan's war effort during World War Two. i dont see how these go hand in hand?
