Teaching is not easy...neither is leaving a school you love. If you live in Mississippi, HIT ME UP! Haha...love you guys! Hope you enjoy this vlog even though it's long. Hope you love me even though I'm not a perfect teacher :) Hope you know that you guys are amazing and I wish I could hug every one of you! Just a note - I am not leaving mid year :) I am finishing out the year. We were required to turn in a form that said we are either returning or resigning for next year, so that's where this video comes from.

I love on the Mississippi Gulf Coast and it’s wonderful here. The need for a great teacher is real here in the deep south and I think that you will find some decent opportunities here for you. We need someone that’s as positive and caring as you are in our schools!! I know it’s scary to start over, but I am incredibly excited that you’re coming this way!!

I love how honest you are about how teaching isnt always perfect or pretty. And I love how you reflect on it. Life can definitely get in the way of your best teaching and i think the students need to see that you are human and can struggle even though we always want to be the best or strongest for them. ❤

YES YES YES! Thanks, Kyra. One of the hardest things is sometimes being honest with yourself, so having this channel has seriously given me the space to do so and become a better teacher!

I remember when my ex first left for training and then his first deployment to a war zone. I was scared for him and that took over for a few days and I was highly emotional. This is typical and you will learn to stay busy. Teaching is a whole world experience for many teachers and then being married and having a spouse leave for a period of time is another world. You can have the 2 worlds and you will realize you are stronger as the days pass. The best advice I was given during his training and his first deployment was to not look at the news and to stay busy until he called or emailed. If you want to talk about any of this, I can listen and be supportive. Stay strong. He needs you to be strong for him. That was the other advice I got. 💪😉😁🖐

I just had to comment on a couple posts regarding Mrs. Call and her future. The person that wrote, "So you quit your job because your husband is joining the military? What about your life and goals?" Ummm, she's married and when her husband gets his assignment, of course she will go with him. She can still have her own goals but her role in life is just changing a little. She's a military wife now. Mrs. Call, enjoy this new adventure. My father was in the Army for over 26 years. I LOVED growing up as a military child. I can't go on bases or posts anymore because both of my parents are both deceased. I miss it. I have so much respect for those who serve our country. Please thank your husband for me. He is a true Hero. If you live on base, maybe there is a teaching position available at the bases school. You will find a job where you are meant to be. There was another post that sounded like they thought you were skipping out tomorrow and not giving your kids closure. Mrs. Call plans on spending the rest of the year as she would have anyway. I know her kiddos are little but talking they will understand whatever she tells them. I wouldn't mention leaving until the very end of school before summer break. They wouldn't see her after school gets out anyway and they will not be traumatized by her leaving. Mrs. Call, you and your husband will do great on this new journey in life. Congratulations!! I don't mean for this to start any kind of discussion or controversy. This young couple will worry enough about the unknown so we just need to be sure to support them. Mrs. Call, if you ever need to "talk" I am here. I think you should be excited and don't listen to those that question what you are doing. 💕💐

My dad is actually an instructor here at Lackland Air Force base where basic training is!!! Phone calls usually happen before they go to bed at night so school should be over for you. If he can’t get ahold of you he should leave a message for you, which I still awesome because you can keep the message and listen to it when you’re missing him a little extra.

I don’t want to say I’m excited to watch you go through your journey to becoming a military spouse because I know, it’s HARD and it SUCKS sometimes. My husband has been in 8 years 😭 but I promise it isn’t all bad! I am getting my teaching degree so I’m eager to see how it “works” with moving to different states and what not, so I can’t wait to watch your journey. My advice would be to job hunt early and add the “fort (insert base) spouses/wives” Facebook page and introduce yourself. There are TONS of other wives out there who are looking for friends and they will end up being your support system. Goodluck! 💕

I can totally relate to the stress of job searching. I’ve been in my dream district for two years but on one year contracts because of the big numbers of classes. I’ll be on the job hunt again this year and I LOVE my school 😭 best of luck with your job hunt. ❤️

+Mrs. Call's Campers Mrs. Mayleene Call , I will say I give my best to your husband in thanksgiving to him for offering up his service but the part about you resigning kind of effects the students and I hope that they will get to enjoy the rest of this year with you so that they have some sort of a stable end to this school year this spring/summer because I am sure they are feeling afraid of waking up the next morning to get ready for school to catch the bus ride to school just to have you not be their teacher and they are probably afraid to tell you . You have a little over 3 and a half months for now so please send this school year off with them in a stable fashion if at all possible . Keep your head up for your students and for us all . - Dwight
