Extra-long Solaris IV - 👍 As far as I know, the trolleybus network in Prague is small.

It is not, in fact, a network in the traditional sense. There are separate segments of streets electrified, but the construction designers counted on all the trolleybuses being also battery equipped and capable of operation off wire.

@@druhyprogram True but in the future there are plans for some of the gaps in the overhead lines being filled by building infrastructure for other lines (Prosecká - Letňany will be electrified when building the infrastructure for current line 375).

I see very light traffic on the main streets, that's unusual 😀 BTW you can notice there are no active switches on the two lines, those will come later. And the dual tracks at 9:25 are unorthodox way to strengthen the line to keep voltage within limits at the end (Terminal 3).

There are other Solaris buses in Freiburg. Unfortunately, there are no overhead lines for buses there, so a bus is needed that can only be charged at certain stops. I also think this solution is simply brilliant.

Thank you !

I wonder why they decided on a trolleybus instead of a tram?
@kubondroberk9942Ай бұрын
The double articulated one is a stopgap measure until they finish building a full-blown main line rail corridor to the airport. The normal length one is just electrification of a more important bus line. Prague has about 140km of trams and is the 3rd most used tram network after Budapest and Paris with more than a million passengers per day. Prague also has a metro( cca 50km) which carries just as much passengers as the trams do.
