There's something we need understand : the braiding the SCRIPTURE was talking about here is not the regular, basic, moderate braiding that black people traditionally do. The braiding being spoken of here is the elaborate, ostentatious styles people were doing and still do. Braiding (we call it weaving in Nigeria), is a an essential part of styling our hair because of the unique way GOD created it.

Amen. I am tired of hearing people misinterpret those veres. The thing is they don't apply the other elements..."the wearing of gold, pearls and costly array (garments or accessories)" If we take the verses the way some do no one should wear a gold wedding band on their hand, or a gold necklace, no one should wear pearls, or wear any clothes that is above the average price. Charity is right, the verse is cautioning women not to focus so much on outter beauty but rather the inward person. That does not mean a woman or man should not take care of themselves and not style their hair in braids or wear any kind of jewelry or any piece of expensive clothing. Context is everything in this case.

IS God taking away an evil thing from them because of their sin, or is he taking away a good thing because of their sin? - Isaiah 61:10 There are many others in the books of psalm, proverbs, etc. That speak of ornanments, jewelry and fine clothing as a good thing when it is not worn in pride and corruption, which is the point made in Timothy 2:10 and 1 Peter 3: 3-5. If wearing jewelry is wrong/sinful or not of God then so is braiding/twisting our hair, wearing head bands, wedding rings and certain types of expensive clothing and shoes.

However, be mindful that if you are presenting this argument to others remember that clothes don't grow out of us naturally, or perfume or any other thing we put on, yet we wear them. It is not a strong argument. I grew up in a church (actually still in that church) that condemn the wearing of jewelry, and the wearing of makeup as though it is a sin, when the bible says nothing of the sort. I see this as teaching doctrines of men. Hair is a woman’s covering. So it has to be long. I believe that there is nothing wrong with braiding the hair or the jewelry. The jewelry shouldn’t be promoting evil spirits. But you should never wear it when your hair already at the length God wants it to be. That length is past shoulders. But people of the world have made hair an idol. May God bless you richly.

Sometimes I'm about to cut my long hair because is hard to comb ... so I in 2 or 3 occassions I said : Jesus if I can't do my hair, I will cut it, so if you don't want me to do that please help me. What do you suggest for someone who has limited time and resources to style natural hair as a single Mom of 3 very young children. I barely have time to eat or use the bathroom let alone take time to moisturize style and twist my hair. WTBS however I do have a conviction to embrace my natural hair as I have 4C hair and have been relaxing since elementary. I do not believe in cutting it to get the relaxed ends off however as I transition Im not sure to whether I should wear braids (with hair added) or wigs..I have been wearing a ponytail for months now and it is breaking off my hair worse and honestly I look not very well put together most days because lack of time and idk what to do... any advice? What about twists? My dad is telling me twists are demonic, my hair can't do regular braids(3 strands). I don't know any options except cornrows, which is torture to my tender scalp. God literally took me out of putting on artificial hair on my head, people will decide to twist scriptures so that they can continue braiding their hair, these things are made in the marine kingdom, God gave me an anointing to crush the Jezebelic spirit and later on told me he gave me that anointing because i had given up everything (artificial hair , trousers, indescent clothes etc)

You used 1 Peter 3:3-4 to condemn wearing of jewelleries and wedding ring. 3 things were mentioned there “not putting on of Gold”, “braiding of hair” and “putting on of apparel” So if in this video you are saying braiding of hair can be in a modest way, why can’t putting on of jewelleries also be worn in a moderate modest way??? If 1 Peter 3:3-4 is against wearing jewelleries in all ways, then it’s also against braiding of hair in every way. Even putting on of clothings.
