He’s fine. He was in the middle of trying to figure out what the hell is going on and the dog was kind of kneedling his brain by sniffing at his leg and making slight contact with him. It’s the frustration of being in that morning fog. Impossible for anyone to even fathom something like that. The dog gets it, the family gets it - Ed is a SAINT for maintaining the disposition that he has amidst this nightmare that has descended upon him.

Yes that was the hardest due my best friend. Her husband cracked his skull open by falling out of a tree while trimming the branches. A few years later Alzheimer’s set in pretty quickly. It broke her heart to put him in a facility but she had no choice. He would get up in the night and he kept falling. he kept forgetting he wasn’t supposed to get up alone. Luckily it was right by our houses so she was able to stay there as long as she wanted and only went home to change clothes. In one of his lucid states he finally told the Dr he didn’t want any more if any treatment. It was so sad because he rarely recognized his brother and sisters. He recognized me and my husband because we were there every day too. They live across the street from us. We were always taking him out to eat. I finally made him a playlist of 60’s songs on my old iPod. He would sing along ti the music on th{e headphones. I later read that music is good for Alzheimer’s patients. I miss you Ray. Rip.

I noticed a comment from an individual who claimed Ed often hits the dogs/animals. Ed is never Physically abusive with any animal or his family members. As usual there's people who Always constantly accuse Danielle of yelling at Ed. As you can tell from the videos he is hearing impaired. Women have a softer voice which will be hard for Ed to hear. She's got to speak louder than Dan. It's not yelling. So many judgment people. I think you and your family are doing a wonderful job caring for Ed. I know that some days are more difficult than others. You are inspiring so many caregivers around the world who are going through similar circumstances with their loves ones Edit: I apologize for any spelling mistake I use a microphone.

@@lessehead Sorry to hear of your situation. I have a friend with that condition- I hope you find some relief. 🌈 My father was 96 when he died- his mind was fine- but his hearing was terrible. But, he did have some success with his hearing aids- but a lot of cons. I was thinking the same thing- mark my words. One day soon we'll see the solution on Shark Tank! Ka Ching! I'm not tech savvy but it would seem to me that when they are sitting having a conversation - Dan/Danielle could speak into a phone/laptop and the words would be transferred to a laptop Grandpa has- and he could read what they are saying- almost in real time. Clearly, that wouldn't work in spontaneous situations.

I have a very loud voice that carries. Because my grandfather was very hard of hearing and because of his eyesight from years as a watchmaker, he couldn’t see to read the newspaper so that was my job as a kid. Especially the obituaries and the police beat. Anything political too. Now I’m old and my hearing is super bad abs I’ve tried heating aids and yes, tinnitus is the devil. Even the 8k hearing aids suck. I tons my family it’s way cheaper for them to just learn to talk 😊 louder.

What are we doing with all these dogs? 😂😂 That made me laugh...We've had as many as 3 dogs at a time before, but once they passed away, my youngest daughter gave us her 2 senior dogs to take care of since she couldn't afford to take care of them any longer...they had to go to the vet a lot being older. They both (sister and brother) have also passed away from old age/health issues a few years ago now. Now we have 3 cats that we take care of, but have had more than that in the past. 2 of them had to be put down due to diabetes. 2 others had health emergencies that caused us to have to have them put down at the emergency clinic within like 3 months of each other...one with cancer, the other one with some other very sudden health issue with her back legs. Right now the 3 cats we have left are 2 outside cats (feral) that we've fed for years (and gotten fixed), and 1 older cat that is left from her original litter that we rescued years ago. I have not gotten any more dogs, just taking care of our remaining cats now for however long they live (and me too lol).

Definitely put some alarms on your doors all doors. I live in Michigan and we had somebody with dementia wander out. I think it was about a year ago and they found him a long time later froze to death. That might not happen where you’re at but he could definitely wander off and fall in the pool or anything who knows! He almost needs like a little apartment like like a little mother-in-law set up with just a bathroom, a bedroom and like a kitchenette area and you can watch him from the cameras you install and make sure there’s alarms on the doors and he can just wander around there with the phone maybe call but he can’t really get out might have to kinda lock man I don’t know !! I sleep with a huge air cleaner in my bedroom, so I really don’t hear anything. I hear my two pugs that do not sleep in my room bark at night sometimes, but I have cameras all over all over the place so usually nothing really wakes me up except for my dogs occasionally . I couldn’t imagine at my age, trying to take care of basically a child. I used to say to everyone you come into this world as an infant, and you leave this world as an infant. ❤️💪 prayers, and power to you, Danielle for having the patience, understanding and love to take care of or help take care of your father-in-law❤️
