I lived with my grandmother with Alzheimer for 7 years and to keep her busy we used to ask her to copy books, newspapers and magazines on notebooks. We would ask her if she could please help us with it. She would spend hours writing in those notebook. We have hundred of those. And it would make her feel useful. It was her job. Maybe Ed would enjoy copying some podiatry books? PS Dan and Mark you are doing an amazing job with your Dad. Bravi!!

This is what we do when our parents age and or end up with the dreaded dementia. We take care of them as they did us. I agree with Dan when he said it's hard but is rewarding. I would have really lost it with him by now Danielle if I had your job! How you maintain your patience God only knows. We, on You Tube only see a few cameos of Ed. each day. It’s Dan, the family, and particularly you that I sign up to see. I must be honest and admit that most of the time Ed. strikes me as a selfish old man. Was he like this before Alzheimer’s I wonder? I looked after my own father at home completely alone until he was 97. But he was not selfish, greedy, self obsessed, and downright annoying like Ed. Sorry, but there you have it!

He loves eating! Dan was saying how much Ed ate one day plus snscks, anyone else would be very ovetweight. Plus he went to a family barbaque but when asked on his way home if he emjoyed it he said "I didn't eat anything at all" but Dan told him he saw him two plates full of food! It's a wonder he doesn't weigh 500 pound! But somehow he manages to stay very slim.❤
