That's what is often striking to me about him. He has serious memory and hearing issues, but his contributions to conversations usually make perfect sense. Even when confused, his questions are logical and he processes information pretty well even if he doesn't retain it.

We Parents, we need to teach our children how our children shoud salute their grand parents. The nephew should go straight to granpa and give granpa a huge hug, instead of rubbing the dog first. My dad thought me to show a lot of respect for older people.
