Update: In this video I said that the latency didn't bother me. That's largely because I was flying with gradual turns in an open park. When I flew indoors I definitely noticed the latency a lot more, and the weight/momentum makes it tricky to handle in tight spaces. So there are trade-offs for sure.

Is there likely to be a way to get this thing to handle better with a betaflight 4.3 tune up?!

@MrShutterBug4 жыл бұрын
No, I don't think there is an audio line-out that could go to the vtx (and thus to the goggles). Even if there was, it would sound awful.

Looked like the camera was pretty solid inside the canopy but like you said, there are no screws. How is it held in there?
@MrShutterBug4 жыл бұрын
The DVR board is mounted on the stack with screws. The camera is held by a small plastic bracket that screws upward into the canopy, like the VTX.

Why is RSSI so bad??
@MrShutterBug4 жыл бұрын
Range was pretty short on this one. I think the electronics must cause interference with the built-in receiver. If you want to go far, I would get the crossfire version or get the PNP version and add whatever Rx you want.

How was the lag / latency?
@MrShutterBug4 жыл бұрын
Latency didn't really bother me, but it's hard to know how much latency there is. I don't have the equipment to measure it. This drone is pretty heavy for the prop size, even if it is the lightest one with HD. So you feel the momentum of the drone more than any video latency.

The camera is made by betafpv?
@MrShutterBug4 жыл бұрын
It appears to be the result of a collaboration between betafpv and Caddx. It will be sold exclusively by betafpv. At least that's what I've been told.

Is the camera 16;9/4:3 & pal/ntsc switchable?
@MrShutterBug4 жыл бұрын
Yes. You need a remote control to change the settings in the OSD. My prototype drone did not come with one, but hopefully the final product will. Luckily I already have a bunch of those remotes from other builds, so I was able to hook it up.

@MrShutterBug4 жыл бұрын
FrSky and DSMX are just different protocols. You could use either one, but the receiver on the drone has to match the radio that you has. The Spectrum radios use DSMX. When buying a drone, make sure to get the right version for the radio that you have. The 65X is sold in several versions.

Did you watch to the end? I suggested exactly that. Move the components onto a 75mm frame and it will fly way better. I think they're going after the novelty of having such a small HD drone. It certainly can fit through some small gaps.
