I never got to actually have a dad, my mom cut me off from my dad entirely at 5 but before that I rarely got to see him and he was like the step-dad in the video, I don’t necessarily MISS him but still. I had 2 step-dads and the first one was rough and always busy but the times I got to spend with him, he mostly payed his attention to my mom and not me but when he did pay attention to me, I either loved it or hated it. My 2nd step-dad I’ve only known for about 2 weeks and he is like the stepdad in the video except he makes jokes about punching me and that he’s allergic to me, but it’s all jokes, so it’s good.

My father was an exceptional man. Tall, strong, brilliant, hardworking, talented, firm, but kind. Never doubted he loved me, even when he was correcting me. He possessed an encyclopedic knowledge base and encouraged a lifelong love of learning. As a civil engineer, there wasn't anything he couldn't fix or build. All of us learned so much from him. He set all of us up for success. I can't relate to the squishy step-dad or the bridge-troll "real dad." They both would have cowered like little puppies around my dad.

As a stepmom I can confirm this is true. You should make one showing the mean, unappreciative step kids, who only wish for their real parent, who treats them poorly.

When a step father is more of a father to you than your actual father. Also could you do a female version with how would a step mother would treat her daughter vs how would a real mother would treat her daughter?

Maturity is when you realise the real dad actually, genuinely cares about you , he just doesn't know how to show it .

Maturity occurs when you realize you were raised in a dysfunctional family, and you decide to deal with it by getting therapy and seriously working at it.

@@sushobhandash I was definitely talking about you. "...he just doesn't know how to show it", would indicate that he can't or won't show that he cares, or doesn't care at all. Of course, he may not have developed emotionally during childhood. Maybe you could try talking to him about it. What could he do that would show you that he does care about you? If he's witholding on purpose then that's a very unhealthy power game, and you need to get a professional therapist's advice.

@@Grimenoughtomaketherobotcry BRO....WATCH BEFORE YOU SPEAK, MY DAD IS ONE OF THE BEST MEN OUT THEIR. THE MAN DID ALL HE COULD TO MAKE US GOOD HUMAN BEINGS , ALWAYS SUPPORTED US , HE DID HIT US SOMETIMES, BUT WHEN IT WAS OUR FAULT . HE HAD A TOUGH CHILDHOOD HIMSELF, BECAUSE OF HIS MOTHER, BUT HE ALWAYS TRIED AND SUCCEEDED IN BEING A GOOD FATHER. THIS DYSFUNCTIONAL FAMILY CULTURE, WHERE MOTHER IS SLEEPING WITH SOMEONE ELSE , DAD HAS ABANDONED THE FAMILY, HAPPENS ONLY IN YOUR SO CALLED GREAT AMERICHAAAAA.

I’m a stepdaughter. Never got to experience real dad, but my stepdad doesn’t play, though. He’ll have the whole house in an uproar when he gets mad. 😅

This is the complete opposite for me, my dad was the freaking GOAT, we played video games all the time, watched anime together, played guitar together, my step dad and mom on the other hand, were the most neglectful, abusive and unlikable douches on the planet, and all because my mom didn’t like that me and my older sister weren’t mixed like she wanted, and I wasn’t reading into anything, she outright hated that we were full white, she even starved and neglected our dogs to the point they were skeletons with overgrown hair and nails, they only cared about my mom’s illegitimate daughter and my step sister, but now with my sister at college I live with my dad and his brother and I took the dogs with me, so now they’re fed and groomed and I don’t have to wake up everyday wishing God sent a lightning bolt to kill me

The real dad part is relatable. Of course it isn't as bad as real life. But I understand. He doesn't want to be demonetized.
