I never got to actually have a dad, my mom cut me off from my dad entirely at 5 but before that I rarely got to see him and he was like the step-dad in the video, I don’t necessarily MISS him but still. I had 2 step-dads and the first one was rough and always busy but the times I got to spend with him, he mostly payed his attention to my mom and not me but when he did pay attention to me, I either loved it or hated it. My 2nd step-dad I’ve only known for about 2 weeks and he is like the stepdad in the video except he makes jokes about punching me and that he’s allergic to me, but it’s all jokes, so it’s good.

My father was an exceptional man. Tall, strong, brilliant, hardworking, talented, firm, but kind. Never doubted he loved me, even when he was correcting me. He possessed an encyclopedic knowledge base and encouraged a lifelong love of learning. As a civil engineer, there wasn't anything he couldn't fix or build. All of us learned so much from him. He set all of us up for success. I can't relate to the squishy step-dad or the bridge-troll "real dad." They both would have cowered like little puppies around my dad.

This is the complete opposite for me, my dad was the freaking GOAT, we played video games all the time, watched anime together, played guitar together, my step dad and mom on the other hand, were the most neglectful, abusive and unlikable douches on the planet, and all because my mom didn’t like that me and my older sister weren’t mixed like she wanted, and I wasn’t reading into anything, she outright hated that we were full white, she even starved and neglected our dogs to the point they were skeletons with overgrown hair and nails, they only cared about my mom’s illegitimate daughter and my step sister, but now with my sister at college I live with my dad and his brother and I took the dogs with me, so now they’re fed and groomed and I don’t have to wake up everyday wishing God sent a lightning bolt to kill me
