Multiple studies have shown that women live happier and healthier lives being single then being married. Statistically speaking, women are happiest when single and childless in today's times. Also, women can have friends and biological family that they share a life with. We as humans need the presence of other humans in our lives yes. But we can live alone. We don’t need romantic relationships to survive. We do need love and support, but it can be from friends and family. It does not need to be from a romantic partner. Studies also show that single women are far happier than their married peers, and that married women lose out in career earnings, career trajectory, health, and life expectancy compared to those single peers as well. Married women tend to age more and have more health problems than single women do, and a lot of that is because of the stress that comes from being in a romantic relationship. Married women live shorter lives and report lower levels of happiness than women who never marry. Also, according to many studies, women have higher rates of depression when married. Over half of all women today are single, by choice. Statistics indicate that single women tend to have the highest life expectancy on average.

“Unconditionally”? 🤔 I’m on my 27th year and marriage definitely be hard. But it’s a daily choice for us both. I know for sure there are conditions for me to continually make that decision though. Just to name a few, respect, loyalty, emotional intelligence/availability, maturity, and commitment. Nothing in my life has been unconditional except for the love I have in my heart for the children I bore from my uterus. I completely understand that all marriages are absolutely not the same, but I don’t understand having no conditions on maintaining it in general.

When my son was a kid he was sweet, then he became a meanager, then he graduated and I cried because I didn’t want my baby to leave, Covid hit and he came back hm, but what I learned through all of it is to always cast my cares on the Lord. God cares about the things I care about and He knows I’m not strong enough to handle something happening to my child. So I gave both of my kids to God and left them there. There are no hands safer than His. Now they go and come as they plz. Stay for days or weeks away from hm and I just pray, keep them covered, cover whoever they are with or wherever they are and let go and let God.

I'm so glad y'all started off the discussion with the responsibility to also show the upside of marriage. Outside of the social media highlights, most marriage discussions these days don't make marriage seem desirable AT ALL. As Melissa said, the effort to be honest, or simply to vent 🤷🏿♀️, is definitely becoming a deterrent to those of us that are unmarried. I think at this point we all get that 'Marriage be Hard', but surely the good outweighs the bad or else no one would do it. God wouldn't have blessed and ordained it. Right? As a single person, I can say more balanced discussion on the joys of marriage, and its challenges, would be appreciated. All that to say, this discussion, and this series, is GREAT!!!!!! 🤗

When Chance said he and Melissa are alike it reminds me of tank and angel because tank will be on the chance and Melissa side and angel is on the tab and kev side. It’s a really nice friendship dynamic. Very rare.

Tab=It was hard because we didn't know who we were... I accepted it so long because I didn't know I didn't like it.

Yess it was really powerful when Melissa was talking about that it's through those tough and vulnerable times that you have the opportunity to strengthen your union and become closer to your partner . Love that !

I enjoyed this podcast with you all. I was married for 20 yrs and it was long suffering. Too young and didn’t know what I wanted or liked nor did he. Lord I’m alone but not lonely. The words of wisdom loved them all.

I was glad to hear Tab talk about how you check in with one another. If I told people on a job or in my personal life I needed to ck with my husband first they act like he runs me or something. In a marriage that’s just common courtesy and respect
