In the darkest age of Japan, endless war leaves a country divided. It is the middle of the 16th Century in Feudal Japan. The country, once ruled by a unified government, is now split into many warring clans. Ten legendary warlords strive for supremacy as conspiracies and conflicts wither the empire. Only one will rise above all to win the heart of a nation as the new shogun...The others will die by his sword.
Take on the role of one Daimyo, the clan leader, and use military engagements, economics and diplomacy to achieve the ultimate goal: re-unite Japan under his supreme command and become the new Shogun - the undisputed ruler of a pacified nation.

Sounds like the Mori Wako Raiders could be useful as a reserve unit which could then be launched in a flanking attack.

One more point about the naginata warrior monks (in campaign): you don't actually need to be able to recruit them in order to get them, remember those ikko ikki rebels that join you if they take a town? yeah those armies have a random chance to include these guys, a late-game cavalry unit in the very beginning, for free, no buildings or arts required and it comes with a free town, just make sure your economy can take the hit... which is relatively easy with how cheap your other units (loan sword ashigaru) are.

It is fun to have a couple of Wako Raiders in your army as a flanking unit. Hide them in a forest and use them to murder the ever living daylights out of archers, and then flank the front lines afterwards. You will probably have the chance to rush their archers with them right about when your Yari Cav has engaged the Enemy Cav. The results tend to be the enemy archers are dead, your Cav wins, and then you surround the enemy army for an absolute slaughter. This favors a more aggressive play style though, and it requires good timing. However if you can't get Cav superiority, you must wait for the enemy cav to be committed elsewhere, and it does run into issues against a certain cav specialist faction which pretty much forces everyone else to play defensively against them.

As far as the raiders, I also appreciated the fact that in a bind they can be recruited faster than samurai

You can group dunderbuss cav in a locked formation group and it will be easier to move a group of them without the fear of having them to close to each other

Mori Wako raiders are amazing . See you can't have both the disadvantages of saying low armour and saying that the closest province doesnt have a port . Even with upgrades the wako raiders still win against katana samurai . Not only that but the better route for Mori is going into Kyushu . It allows you to worry only about 1 front later on , gives you the possibility of owning a nanban trade port & practically control all the trade nodes .

this was my fav units :3 wako was bone of my mori campain, imo the most fun one of all i played.

Idk man, Mori Wako Raiders are pretty damn amazing as far as I'm concerned, considering you can get them by turn 10 -- before it's even possible to build the encampment necessary to further boost their stats in a blacksmith province. They're basically Loan Sword Ashigaru with Vanguard Deployment, and will absolutely annihilate any army the ai can field in the early to mid game even without any upgrades. They are even more cost efficient than Hattori Katana Samurai. Even if you insist on giving them gold tier armor and attack, you can always recruit them in Satsuma, which CAN build a military port, and is probably where you want to expand early game anyways. The ai rarely spams cavalry and, even if they do, you always have yari ashigaru to fall back on.

Great Vid :D Try skirmish mode on Tokugawa ounted gunners :D it works great when you try to kill enemy infantry

Its why takeda can beat all: fire cavalry with or without takeda yari cavalry will beat any cavalry fielded by any other clan and takeda katana cav can beat a naginata monk on foot despite the number disparity :] combining some bits of cunning and only engaged "tired" on foot units and whorse lord wins everything.

Hey mrsmartdonkey did you know that you can have more than one hero? if you play Coop you can Gift them so you can recruit another one and your Coop Partner send the hero back and now you have 2 of them.

Oh, that's interesting. Kind of pointless since most of the hero units aren't that amazing, but interesting nonetheless.

+MrSmartDonkeyLP well the mounted bow hero (yubisame or something) is amazing. he he the best Range of all bow units and a high rate of fire. Its easy to make 300-700 kills in a big battle
