In the darkest age of Japan, endless war leaves a country divided. It is the middle of the 16th Century in Feudal Japan. The Imagawa seemed to be bugged into never accepting trade from the Hojo. I was allied with them for 6 years or so and even joined their defensive call to arms, offered them a hostage and about 20k gold, but they didn't want a trade agreement.

Inspired by your stealth campaign, I decided to try a Kisho NInja-only Hattori playthrough to keep up the challenge beyond the first 10 provinces, and while it is definitely harder than standard (esp with the super slow start), I think you're being too hard on them here. Considering the tiny unit size, it is shocking to me how well they perform vs samurai armies due to the grenades->katana charge ability. They're lightning fast, can climb walls without casualties in the blink of an eye to snipe siege victories, and against their greatest weakness (arrows) they can go invisible. They can go invisible... I don't imagine they will hold up in the late-lategame no matter how much armor I pack on them, but like the Otomo I find it a fun experiment to give all your generals the "Fear"-trait (forgetting the name) and watch in awe how fast you can break a line with a volley or two - though admittedly Portugese rifles do the job better. But hey, that's why God also gave us the super assassins to hit their morale even harder,.

At first I was disappointed at normal difficulty but then the siege and first battle happened and I am now wondering how you are going to be able to win this campaign. I mean Ninjas will help as they are decent in melee, but man are they expensive. Without a super good economy you won't be able to support an army. This campaign is going to be tough, good luck!

They need total war: birth of gunpowder. Starts in year 1000 ad china. Then the mongols spread it to middle East then Europe. it will make medieval 3 fans happy. I want to see Fire Lance's, arrows propelled by gunpowder, hand cannons and fireworks in battle. (It will have a perfect balance of unit variety and old school tactics) btw why bomb throwers are same speed as heavy infantry? I thought they were fast skirmishers similar to javelins In this new total war game, You want to spam heavy infantry? Have a taste of mounted bombs or a flamethrower! You want to spam gunpowder? Counter with long range flight archers? Gunpowder units might get overwhelmed so you still need traditional spearmen..etc. Also your game shows some people could choose to camp from behind but simply that is unrealistic because fire arrows didn't have explosive heads.

Handmortars are pretty good in offensive siege haha. unlike fire rockets they have a huge arc and go over the wall, fire rockets are kind of odd with their shot in seiges

That's true, but funny enough despite this being a siege units only challenge I tend not to fight sieges, and I will maintain that during this campaign. That said I've already fought several sieges. :P

I'm trying to find all the cutscenes for Shogun 2, FotS, and RotS. Do you know where and how I can find them? The Total War wiki sucks and gives little information and every KZbinr playing the game just skips the cutscenes and I really want to see some of them. I'm sorry, how does a camera mod make this unrealistic? It allows me to zoom out further, so I can actually see what I'm doing. How is this easier than past challenges, it's probably the hardest I've done. Check the other comments, most people are saying how this is going to stupidly difficult. I can use garrison troops, of course I can use garrison troops, you want me to fail the campaign on turn 2 because I have a single unit to defend with, how fucking stupid are you? I've always allowed myself to use garrison troops in challenge runs as it would basically be impossible not to use them. I'm allowed to use a navy, but I'll likely stick to using only siege naval units.
