I've never personally played Gongsun Zan yet in Rise of the Warlords, his faction mechanic is not my favorite as I prioritize story events that happen with playthroughs, but if you've played that campaign let me know how it went!

Sun Jian has the same problem Cao Cao has. His campaign is way too easy and snowballs hard. Early game is literally just 90% taking Han territory, 5% Liu Biao and the other 5% Yan Baihu and his budget coalition. After that, you pretty much have a great economy, great defense due to the yangtze river and a ridiculously overpowered heir in Sun Ce with his cav charge bonus. It's fun to play but definitely lacks any challenge, like with Cao Cao but Credibility is actually a lot more fun than Heroism. Big Dong at 1 is pretty based tho
