Hiya Sully. Fabulous job.. I LOVE the sculpting you did of the parachute, and the scratchbuilt lamp! It's that kind of attention to realism I adore :) BTW fairly often it was the Wireless Operator who did dual duty as the nose gunner, denoted by the acronym WOp/AG as opposed to BA/AG [or AB/AG]. According to the late George 'Johnnie' Johnson, McCarthy's Bomb Aimer for Operation Chastise (the Dams Raid) some bomb-aimers didn't use the triangle bomb sight. They had two chinagraph marks on the bomb aimer's clear canopy and a length of string between the two. Pulled towards the bomb-aimer's face to form a triangle they used that to sight and released the bomb when the marks lined up with the dams' towers.

The RAF used 'operations', hence crews going on 'ops' or sorties :) Incidentally, if a bomber was used on an Italian sortie the symbol was an icecream cone instead of a bomb *LOL* Absolutely gorgeous job of the model, well worth the troubles you had to complete it :)

Great video and the attention to detail is amazing. The only negative I have is that you have used a Queen’s Crown Officers’ side cap badge on your base. Queen’s Crown badges were not in service until after 1953. It needs to be a King’s Crown because during the war, we had a King. Also, it needs to be a general RAF badge to represent that the majority of the crew were NCOs, not officers, it was just a mix of brave young men. 👍🏻

I have the full kit in my stash, it's still a bit ambition over ability at the moment but I'll give it a go in the new year. Mine has the transparent fuselage option, don't think i'll be using that tho'!

@@nigelpickett2471 it is cool having the clear part but from prevues experience its obvious its different plastic and you can see it is. You really need to lightly scuff it or fog it really where you want it painted. Its well detailed inside and a shame to cover it but my self if you have seen other detailed builds I quite enjoy it anyway just make sure you get a load of good photos of it.

@SullysScaleModels thats great Sully, really looking forward to my 1st show and the opportunity to say hi to all you guys if i can find you all, its also a special occasion as im meeting the man behind a amazing armour FB page i joined at the beginning of my journey 10 months ago, its a really nice space with a encouraging and supportive ethos for all skill levels. There's a under 18s group build starting next week, not many youngsters seem to build models like many of us did in our youth before we discovered beer girls and music so the message on the GB is "lets make modelling cool again" 😎. I have to say sully the airfix and chill is always such a great conversation and as well as learning lots I never knew I feel like I sort of got to k ow you all a little and in turn been subscribing watching and enjoying your content as individuals. Although I am into armour and ground based vehicles I just love to watch you all building different subjects and discovering the overlap of skills and techniques, just watching your Lancaster video last night for instance (amazing stuff I might add) gave me some ideas and confidence to try and add some extra detail in places going forward, thankyou for all the great content you guys share with us all. Alex has a stand I'm with the Black Rifle lot Mos and Nigel will be about somewhere(probably with Dale at Airfix😁)Johon Alic will be around as well as Lexi so just come and say Hinto is when you see us😂 As you will of seen im the opposite to you as im more aircraft but i do some AFV but i got alot of my skills from Night Shift! Alot of the skills if not all are translatable, you just need to find what works best for you. Like chipping for example all you really need to do is change what the base material is as were armour will be rust or a metal colour aircraft will be silver! So just because a certain techniques done on a certain subject doesn’t mean you can’t use it for something else

Absolutely amazing. I recently viewed "G for George" (one of the options with this kit) where he is currently in storage in Canberra and hopefully will be back in the Australian War Museum next year. I have bought this kit and am quite intimidated by your skills and attention to detail as I know I will be not be able to get the model nearly as good as yours.
