During excursions, we’d just take the stairs. It was only 7 floors, so we just “suffered” through. Because the elevators were PACKED 😂

We didn’t mind the elevators but do agree that people don’t understand them well enough. We loved the SkyRide, high ropes and the water slides!! We liked the Horizon so much we are going back on her this October! Thanks for sharing your thoughts!!❤️

I loved the Carnival Horizon, loved Mike the cruise director. Usually My family cruises together(my brothers & their wives) My brother booked the wrong ship and was not allowed to switch over to the #CarnivalHorizon, (he had cruised with Carnival over 16 times) at dinner I wanted to Have A drink sent to my brother at his table on the #Carnivalbreeze, well Mike contacted the cruise director over there and made it happen. When we all got back home, my brother told me he received his drink from me on his ship. This was so awesome love you Mike!!! So I'm rescheduled for This November 2021 from 2020 on the #Carnival Horizon. We'll see how that goes! Thx for all your info & updates!!!

I loved my 8 day Horizon trip from NY last summer. It was very relaxing! The children aboard were barely noticed, even though it was around July 4th. I didn’t find serenity on the Serenity deck because I kept hearing the ice crusher at the bar! It is a beautiful ship, but my preference is a ship with fewer passengers. That sky ride above the ocean was AWESOME!

The kid issue is a lack of parental control issue; not Carnival. These days parents decide they are on vacation and don't parent as they should. They are entitled: parents and now there kids will be too.

Thank you for the review. I recently traveled on the Horizon for the 2nd time in 2 years. I am in love with this ship. My concerns about your review are it was mainly about passenger movement. At capacity there are what some 3k guests? And another 1400 plus in crew members? Everyone going all over the ship, especially boarding, it's going to be busy. If you expected less on the boarding of the ship, I'm curious how you would handle a large number like like? The elevators. I've been on the Vista as well and I found the elevators on the Horizon to be much more simplified, and efficient. Often times on the Vista we found ourselves waiting 10 minutes or more during off peak times. On the Horizon the elevators were quite quick during peak times. Also, just a suggestion, if you go as a group or it's your first time, I always suggest looking here at KZbin on all the videos you can find about the ship, port, airport, surrounding areas of town, cab services, food, ect. As a group leader with 6 cruises under my belt , I've learned to teach my group about all of those things. I send videos, and share areas of town I've visited. So perhaps its suggested to do a lil research and homework on a potential trip to make the best out of it. Then that way you know what to expect. So thank you again for your review. I hope that the ship brings better experiences for you in the future should you choose her again.

We just got off the Horizon Ship this past Sunday. The Cruise Director is "Off The Chain"!!! He has soo much energy!!! I enjoyed him soo much!. Toward the end of the our vacation the SkyRide was closed. I was looking forward to riding it. I had the same experience concerning someone knocking on the door. Yes!!! The breakfast was just okay but the dinner was good. I will be on Vista before the end of the year.

On my last cruise, my mom took my little brother with us for the first time and he wasn’t good. He was 2 almost 3 at the time and he’s one of those kids who think everything is theirs and doesn’t like being told no. That doesn’t sit well with my mom and almost always results him screaming. He did this on our cruise and my mom was so stressed because her child wouldn’t stop screaming every time he didn’t get what he want. Most of the times she was able to calm him down and sometimes gave him what he wanted in the first place

The middle of the night door knocking happened on the Dream before, too, when I made the mistake of cruising during school vacation. I and many others, complained to customer service, however, they said there were 1,500 kids on the ship and there was nothing they could do. I really miss the opulence of the older ships! I was recently on the Elation and that ship, while really small (no movies on the Lido deck), it apologetically opulent! The details were so amazing! I think every ship has a blocking point where you have to go down to go up. The elevators on Horizon are hideous the first day! After that, it was okay. It still freaks me out that there are no buttons on the inside and I still reach for them even though I've been on the ship twice. People got stuck on the elevator on my first cruise on the ship in November 2018. OMG - Mike Pack is the best cruise director in the fleet. Love him! So sweet and genuine caring. He makes me feel like I'm cruising with one big group. My 2019 cruise room steward was just fabulous. I couldn't have asked for better. He and his assistant took such good care of me. I wasn't crazy about the new style of the theater. I is very small and the chairs are not as comfortable as the nice, long couches the older ships have.

I was on the Horizon at the end of May. The elevators were problematic on the first day, however after the first day, most people adjusted to using them and they worked quite well. We have stayed at hotels with elevators that operate like this, so I was somewhat familiar with their operation. That being said, every cruise that I have been on have the same problem with the elevators on the first day because everyone is trying to get to their room at the same time. Once everyone gets to their room, the elevators are not much of a challenge because people are coming and going at different times, which is why it is frustrating only on the first day.

Here is a tip for the elevator you have to press the touchscreen 1 for 1 for each person in your group the more people you have the more you have to press it so it knows how many people are in your group

I love you guys' HONEST reviews. Hubby and I try to book off season because kids are for the most part, in school. Kids get too wild! I have kids and grand kids, but still......I like order. The parents should get FINED.

I cruised with my group from New York to Bermuda last year: 7.19.18...I liked the decor, entertainment (that's why it's the FUN Ship) and the PIZZA (I LOVE NY PIZZA and was genuinely surprised about the taste and how they make it right in front of you), plus Guy's Burger's too! Sorry, the elevator is similar to the NYTimes Square Sheraton's Hotel Elevator, so I liked and preferred it to the regular elevator, but I get your point. I understand your point about the kids and when these types of things happen, I suggest contacting the people in charge/security. As you mentioned, some adults do NOT care! As you said the trip is Not FREE...get SECURITY! Especially when it comes to Safety & Fire. I don't care about offending people. I'd rather be alive and said something, then NOT and DEAD. Appreciate your points of view. That's why it's good to point them out and let the cruise companies know too! After all, They can't cruise without US! :)

We found the elevators excellent. Yes it took a day to get use to but after that it worked fantastic if people use it properly and push the floor for each person.

Mr. And Mrs. Traveler, great review of the carnival Horizon. We're leaving in 26 days to board the carnival Horizon with mom for an 8-day Southern Caribbean Cruise. We hope while on our cruise everything is smooth sailing. Kids should be back in school for the most part, and since this is a longer Cruise like you stated in the video maybe this will be a more low-key quiet group. This is more of a parent issue when it comes to the kids and not a carnival issue. Yes Carnival Cruise notified when kids are start to knock on doors and be disrespectful to other adults when parents are around, but overall is the parents responsibility to control their children. I’m taking my second trip on her Horizon and I have never had any serious problems on the ship with the kids or anything else. Me personally I love the rides and shit and everything that it has to offer. I leave September 7 to the 14th.

Very disappointed in the buffet selections on the Horizon which made the pizza and the deli lines so long, but yes the kids were out of control. Making the jump to Royal if it doesn't get better.

I feel you guys are a bit picky. The kids are parent issues. Crowded elevators during peak times are common anywhere. As your wife said the elevators are a learning curve. I'm going on the Horizon for Christmas and I am very excited.

Now let's talk about the the kids onboard. I am a mother who have children but grown now, I am a teacher and I love children. Some of the comments that I read about it is not Carnival's issue for the lack of control with children; it is the parents responsibility and they are right! Parents need to control their children and show them the dos and don'ts on vacation or anywhere! However, Carnival should put in place a curfew for the young adults on board their ships! My concern would be a young adult is going to do something to a paying adult passenger and that paying adult is going to do something to that young person. Once that happens that is when the parent want to act like a parent! So to prevent any major issues Carnival need to curve this behavior before parents enter on board! Parents need to sign a form that talks about curfews and the safety of their children and the passengers. Roaming the hallways, knocking on people's door and cursing out loud is unacceptable on all levels! If the other cruise ships do this and is successful Carnival can do the same thing! As for the young little girl that was crying on line; she looks like she was tired and probably need to take a nap. Children who are tired will cry and fall out! They do not know how to say, look mommy or daddy I am just tired and need to go back to the room and sleep. I can deal with that behavior more than the disrespectful young adults!

The 8 day cruise has to be very different from the 6 day cruise. This is the second channel that mentioned children and their behavior and both were 6 day cruises. My family went on the 8 day cruise. There were a lot of children, but they were respectful and having a blast. I will admit some were up and down the stairwell but from my observation that was all. We traveled the beginning of June 2019 Horizon. Also I liked the elevators. I didnt have to go to unnecessary floors to get to my room.

Kids running around at 4 am? That's not fun at all for everyone else. If you bring your children on a cruise, it is your children's vacation, not your vacation as a parent. As a parent, you are (or rather should be) ON DUTY 24/7. Do no impose your children's tantrums and misbehaviours on the rest of us who paid our fare to be on that ship. It reminds me of a campground where parents drink all day and let the kids run wild. I would never had taken my children on a cruise when they were young because I knew I never would have enjoyed myself, running after the little ones, making sure they were safe, fed, rested, and not disturbing other passengers. It's more than a full-time job!! Paying all that money to not enjoy myself? Why would I do that? As a parent, making sure your children are not disturbing others is part of your job. Do it!!

Not to be a negative but sexual assault is an issue on ships. Teens and young children should never roam halls, elevators, and decks unattended. Poor parenting and lax security.

The reason we stopped sailing Carnival 5 yrs ago is the out of control kids running around all nite n Carnival does nothing about it we sail mostly NCL n Royal where they have very strict control on curfews for kids n have security everywhere keeping control

Cant really blame Carnival on kids misbehaving. They obviously have no home training. I was recently on an NCL ship and the kids were not policed or supervised. Under age kids were in the club and drinking. No one told them to leave. It’s not a Carnival thing. It’s parents letting their kids run wild. We will be sailing Horizon next year.

I am booked on horizon, sunrise and mardi gras, the carnival journey cruise out of NY next year, i will then switch to cruise on RCL large ship, NCL and Virgin voyage. next great information thanks

That pizza line is ridiculous but that's always the experience when I cruise Carnival. If you don't get there early you have to wait in those long lines. The to order omelets are usually pretty good on Carnival.

My guess is that this is the behavior they witness somewhere and thus display it elsewhere. I would not have been pleased with the children and my children don't need to see that. Thanks for keeping it real Mr n Mrs traveler. On another line my teenager was out until 2am but with staff, had a ball and still keeps in touch with those kids to the extent that when they came to NY we got together. Nice to grow up making friends in different places, never know where you will meet again😁
