Well, one thing for sure, Bo is one smart lady. She gracefully handled ignorant questions. Her reaction to an absurd comment at 5:16 is priceless. Man, what a business. She said it, it's all an illusion. Made me think of an Andy Griffith comment, "Mayberry never existed." Well, this lady survived it all...

When Bo says “I don’t wet on the floor in the hallway”, she’s referring to a joke that Joan made that claimed that her and Bo were walking through the NBC Studios together, Bo saw a sign that said “wet floor”, so she did

Don't know what clip you watched but everything was going smoothly until the end. A person that defends a joke about them with "I don't wet the floors like you said" isn't someone with a great sense of humor. She still seems a lot more down to earth than the current socialites

Cause they are just jokes to make people laugh. If Bo was that upset with Joan, she would have told her to stop the jokes because Joan respected others if they wanted her to stop, she asked Elizabeth Taylor if the fat jokes bothered her and Elizabeth responded: "Tell Joan, it doesn't bother me where I live." Joan was a comedian and you've got to remember that she was 100x more harsh on herself than anyone else.

In the interviews with Johnny Carson- 1979 and 1981, Bo explained that she wanted to get into movies and John didn't want her to. She's right- the movie "10" happened without having anything to do with John. He did tell her she had no discipline and then taught her discipline and she went on to other movies. Once "10" was a hit, he then guided her career. People have to realize, John is from old Hollywood. He knew what could happen to someone like her if he wasn't involved to protect her. I don't see anything wrong with that. They both benefited from each other.

Watch other interviews. On Johnny Carson she said that her husband and her would have "bad days" if she didn't look good enough to him. And that he insisted on keeping her weight under 100. It matters because older men who prey on younger women tend to have poor character, as John did.

if he didn't want her in the business they why did he put her in playboy and cast and direct her in an x rated movie? I guess what he meant was he didn't want her in show biz unless it was a film where he got to personally oversee her sexual exploitation. Lovely man. 'My image is dumb' .... she can thank John Derek for that. He took a naive 16 year old girl and manufactured that image of her to fill his pockets, and feed his ego. Really sad. So many comments here depreciating Joan... WRONG. Joan is first and foremost a comedian. She jokes about people who she thinks (and can) take it. She explained herself perfectly when she said she wouldn't make a joke about a down-and-out person. And from all I've seen, she never has. It seemed to me from this interview that both women were alright with each other, neither was trying to put the other down, yet people read to much into it and want to play sides because they like drama. I don't know much about Bo Derrick but she seemed semi-intelligent during this interview. Joan explained why she jokes about Bo in an intelligent (and as I see it, justified,) way. What the fuck is the problem and why are so many people attacking one or the other? They seem to get along just fine.

Bo Derek is not humourless. She's just not over-the-top abrasive with her humour, which is more than I can say for Joan Rivers. And seemingly nobody got why Bo Derek had a roll of tape, even after she alluded to it, which proves either 1) you didn't watch the whole interview, or 2) you're the dummy, not Bo, and the only humour you "get" is of the Rivers bully-girl variety.

"The first picture that people saw was "10", and he (John Derek) had nothing to do with that." Not true: again, Bo Derek denies the existence of "Orca" (1977), which came WAY before "10". And regardless of whether it was released, the first film that Bo Derek made was "Fantasies", directed by John Derek. So yes, John Derek put Little Bo Peep into the movies. It matters not if the film wasn't released for several years. It was the first film in which Bo Derek appeared. It wasn't through lack of trying to get it released that the film sat on the shelf for several years. Only the success of "10" got "Fantasies" subsequently released.

She did the same thing on the Carson interview. There's a possibility that she's just dumb and can't articulate all that well. After all, she fell for John Derek's bullshit. Watch the Carson interview. He sounds like a complete asshole.

"Bo| was right.....Joan did used to pick-on guests....but "Bo" (Mary) didn't have to bring it up. The interview was going well. Joan was trying to remain professional ...justifying her appracoh. ..."style". Perhaps some interpret Joan's brand of humour as "picking on"...i did. Back in the day. Maybe i didn't understand her humour? Some interviewers however DO pick-on stars to get ratings. Was common in the 80's/90's...Matt Lerher's interview with Tom Cruise....A Toronto talk show host with Mike Tyson--(YIKES)...yes the host lived heh).. Bo seems too odd--she CAN sound intelligent sometimes then not. then fall off the edge...provoking Jooan here.... The stories of her background varies...most say she left for Germany at 16..which means they had to have met BEFORE she was 16. Other stories said her mother dd nothing to stop her...father never mentioned. I think then as it is now the "legal age is 16"....though i don't know the age where parents can no longer keep their kids from leaving the country...maybe it is 18? If her parents really wanted to stop her they could have...heh...John wa a predator. Bo was brainwashed....
