Freddie was live Aid he had all those people eating out of his hand, nobody could play the audience like Freddie could he was the ultimate showman. I was lucky enough to see them live 4 times in the late 70s early 80s and I was just a kid who was lucky to have a step dad super fan of queen and he used to take me and my older brother. Some of the best times of my life even though I was young.

The Show Must Go On is Freddie's best song, but also saddest. He was dying of AIDS at that point an couldn't stand or sing for very long, guitarist Brian May wondered and asked how he was gonna sing it. Freddie downed his vodka an said "I'll just fucking do it, darling." He went and slayed it and cemented his legacy as the greatest frontman ever.
@BillCarter2k194 жыл бұрын
Mother Love was the saddest. The first half of the song was Freddie. He got tired and went to lay down, he never woke up. Brian finished the song years later.

Bill Carter that is all wrong! They make Mother love in Montreux, in the studio they had there. This was in end of mai, beginning of june -91. Freddie song two verses, and stop and said he couldent do more that day, but he should come back the day after and finish it. He never does. Brian May sang the last verses! Freddie whant to bee in Switzerland a long as he could, becouse the paparatsi dosent bother him there. In England they was crazy they was aroun his home 24/7. Freddie come home 10 nov. He died in his home 11.24.91.......if you dont beliwe me find interview, dokumentary etc.

A snippet about the lyric "I'm a racing car passing by, like Lady Godiva." According to lore, in Medieval England, Lady Godiva said to her husband that she would ride naked on horseback, through the streets of Coventry, if he promised to lower the taxes that the poor people had to pay. He obliged and so she rode disrobed, with her "Modesty" only covered by her very long golden tresses. Her husband, the Lord, had ordered that everyone had to stay indoors and all the windows had to be shuttered but it was said that one local man named "Tom" couldn't resist having a sneaky peek through his window as she passed by and it is alleged that this is where the phrase "A Peeping Tom" originates from.

In some versions, "Tom" was also stricken blind for invading upon Lady Godiva's modesty. ;o)

He was gay. Very gay. Fully gay. His marriage was common law which means his best friend, first and only female relationship moved in with him and kept his secret. In the day men and women couldn't share a home if they weren't family or married. Moving in together for 3 months was enough to be legally married in the day. She lived with him for six years and said flat out if he hadn't been honest with her and had he tried to live a bisexual lifestyle. she would have contracted aids and died like both of the men he was with during their common law marriage. He left her the majority of his estate specifically as thanks for protecting him. She is the only one who knows where he was burried even his 'husband' Jim (remember being homosexual was illegal, their marriage was not recognized) had to be left out of his will to protect him in a time when it would have been extremely dangerous. Also their lover Joe was officially kept put of the will but Jim and Joe were given gifts of properties, money and Mary's agreement to let the men share the family home for as long as they wanted. In an 87 interview a year after his unrecognized marriage to Jim, with his 'best friend' Joe happily living with them for years at this point Freddie said he'd finally found what he'd been looking for his whole life. "Do you have a relationship now?" asks the TV interviewer. F: "We have to be very careful, put it this way, I'm so happy with the person I'm living with at the moment. That's it." "Are you happy about me saying obviously that is a male relationship?" asks the journalist. "No, you mustn't. I just said relationship. That's exactly what I said," Freddie states. Freddie never so much as told his parents and claimed Jim was a friend who slept in another room. Husband Jim and Best friend Joe along with ex-common law wife Mary were all there to care for and comfort Freddie as he died. Of all the lovers Freddie ever had, his wife mary never got hiv/aids. Jim, Joe, and Freddie were diagnosed at the same time. Only Jim survived long enough to get cutting edge medications that surpressed the HIV. Every other intimate partner died. Again. The only female he was with and his husband were the only two to survibe. Freddie was very very gay but he wasn't allowed to say that at the time.

Fun fact..that logo you see at the start of official Queen videos was designed by Freddie in their early days (he studied graphic arts). And yes, he was a genius. Not just his singing but as a composer. And no one beats him as a performer. They were called the most intelligent & well educated band in Rock. Don't forget, Dr. Brian May(lead guitarist) is an astrophysicist & he & his dad built his famous guitar when he was a teen. Each one was a unique musician, all 4 wrote songs that were no. 1 hits, John Deacon (bassist) invented an amplifier that others copied.The whole band is truly unique.💙 Now you need to do "Somebody to Love" live Montreal ..and the studio version is worth doing too!💙
