LMAO, the irony is that I work at a night shift at Walmart. Despite the Walmart radio having mostly awful songs, when I first heard this, I was desperately looking for it, but needed to carefully listen to the lyrics without distractions. A few months later, after finding the song "She Drives Me Crazy", today I found the song with the lyric "Wishful Thinking." As soon as I found the song, I was SO thankful for my patience. This also gave me the opportunity to search for reaction videos for this song, to share the good news that this song SLAPS hard. I'm going to add the song to my personal MP3 Player soon.

The label wanted a major production music video for this, their biggest hit. So they said, you want an over-the-top video? Okay, that's what you get! They loaded up as many pop culture references and late 80s/early 90s tropes as they could and deliberately made no effort to construct anything like a narrative or match it to the song itself. And the gaggle of suits examining film footage you see several times? Representing record label execs. FYI they still got all their chops 30+ years later, in their 60s.

There were different "kings" used in the video. The LA Kings hockey team, a lion (the king of the jungle), and Elvis aka "The King of Rock & Roll". Must agree, the Pope was a bit confusing. Lol. Great song though. The other theme was that it was part of the soundtrack for the movie Pretty Woman, so the girl was a Julia Roberts look-a-like with her various outfits, as used in the film.

Walking by the Seattle center on your way home. Run in there find out it's Bryan Adams Billy Squier concert. I've always had fun.
