Really? You're surprised? Mad. If you think about making a high-tech anything your first thoughts are to make security your main objective
@devonwilliams24239 ай бұрын
i wouldnt be suprised if its all Intranet, meaning completely offline. And only a few services actualy reach outside. No google is a sorta thing that leads me to confirm that. The majority of thing on their computer are most likely just downloaded or loaded off internal servers.

They do have old school analogue methods still in place. It's a well thought out mix. The best digital security is not relying on digital systems.

I guarantee you that any digital systems that actually matter are air-gapped and not connected to the outside world (or to other systems like the computers prisoners have access to) at all.

This is a interesting thing that Mrwhosetheboss checked out and got allowed access at a High-Tech UK Prison, great video!

A surprising video by MrWhoseTheBoss, honestly. But it was really amazing and really well made, as always. The prison does not seem like prison at all when you look at it architecturally. Of course, nuances will be there that will surely make the prisoner feel like that, but apart from that, I would really, really appreciate those people who designed it. It is a prison in a way, while not a prison, conventionally. Amazing.

That is a very modern prison complex. Clean and not too imposing either. Looks more like a college than a prison. But it is still secure, which is of course of utmost importance.

Choose One, A or B A) Be a good citizen, and go to college - pay thousands for schooling, housing, feeding etc. - still get a shitty education with zero work-ready skills - you are in constant fear of being a victim of crime - you still have all your basic human rights B) Commit a light crime, and get sent to this prison - you get schooling, housing and feeding for free - you get quality work-ready skills and experience - you are well protected by security and technology - you lose a few basic human rights during your stay in the prison I know my choice though...

i dont understand.if a prisoners are sentenced here,what punishment is he/she getting? a free course on how to operate a bulldozer? people would be happy to go to a prison like this right so people wouldnt hesitate to commit a crime. dont you think?unless all what is shown here is just not real?
@banditahm52219 ай бұрын
Not saying how much I agree or not, but just to answer your question. The reason is for it to be seen as a "learning opportunity", meaning that it's too try to turn people into better humans instead of punishing them. The reason behind this comes from studies about re-offenders who are more likely to come from prisons you were trying to describe. These are shown to make people less likely offended crimes again. All in all, these do cost a lot of money which comes out from our tax money, but that's the answer to your question
@joel3459 ай бұрын
Obviously it looks quite nice in a vacuum but I'd say losing your liberty is a huge punishment in and of itself.
@The-tg5zg9 ай бұрын
I won’t pretend to know lots about it but I believe the rationale and what’s been proven elsewhere is that providing such rehab significantly reduces reoffending. As prisoners who are released with no employment prospects are at high risk of resorting to crime again due to a low quality of life. I get how it can seem almost like a bit of a gift but you need to remember they lack so many liberties compared to outside life and if it works and reoffending drops, then I think that’s a net benefit for everyone.
