I don't really get all the fuzz about the fingerprint scanner. I own the S8+ and I'm perfectly happy with its placement. Once you own the device, muscle memory kicks in and there's no trouble confusing it with the camera. Tech reviewers only use this device for a couple of days/weeks for their review, too short to get used to it I think. As a 2 meter tall male with probably bigger hands than most people, I understand it might be difficult to reach for smaller people/females. But the normal S8 should be fine for most right?

mrhpijl i agree with you. For me s8+ is a bit too big and uncomfortable to reach fp scanner and that's why i chose s8. Once I used to it i have absolutely no complaints on it's location

I've had my S8 for almost 12 months. I love it. Ain't had a major problem. Gets slow once a week if I'm lucky but I do use my phone for work so that's why. But it's amazing.

I'm still using an s7 edge since March 2016, and it's really great, and KZbin barely drains my battery, but standby time is pretty poor. The camera is really good as well, and with Nova launcher, my phone is super smooth with almost no lag. However, the back has a lot of permanent scratches and dots that won't come off. Honestly I'm still happy with the s7 edge.

I had the s8+ as I had every galaxy S iteration since launch, aswell as most note line phones. Owning a S9+ at the moment, I can tell you that on my S8+ I never smudged the camera lense because of the fingerprint sensor. I can also tell you that on my S9+ I almost always smudge the telephoto camera unlocking the phone. Maybe I'm different to everyone else, but as far as I can tell, the smudging complain on the S8+ could only come from people who don't daily drive it or people who need complaints for videos. Apart from that, the S9+ is the smoothest phone samsung ever launched, but the S8+ is almost perfect aswell. I do like the camera color better on the S8 than on the S9 as well, as from years of people nagging, samsung apparently decided to use more accurate colors instead of the beautiful ones from generations past. I do believe that galaxy S phones are always the best phones of the year (note line is for work, in my opinion, so I won't factor it in since it is more expensive and not more useful for everyone) and at the price you can get a S8+ at the moment, nothing really touches it... as nothing really touched it before.

S8 and s8+ is still very good. It's a 2-3 years phone. Most of the last year phones got very cheap and running well. One year it's just to soon for big improvements so if you got a 2017 phone, keep the money for 2019. My carrier gives me a s8+ for free or buy back plus 100€ and i could have the s9+.

I love my s8+, i have no issue with the finger print reader being on the back, and battery life is great for such a big screen, helps that i tend to use black based themes. Best Galaxy S series phone I've had to date 🙂

Good advice and great video, I'm replacing my aged Xperia z3 in June and had my sights set on an S9+ the only reason I won't go S8+ is because I have become used to the Xperia 's dual front speakers, they give great performance for my KZbin habit and a pair of stereo speakers is pretty high up on my shopping list. I bought the Galaxy S8+ this week and it has been great, about the point of no portrait mode I downloaded Google camera app and it works pretty well. The hdr+ doesn't work as good in low light but it improves the front facing camera in pretty much every situation since it gets rid of Samsung's softening and software processing. Battery is actually great, speed and performance have been great so far. Samsung skin is not bad anymore and I hate Bixby. Edit: fingerprint scanner is a bit awkward but usable when the iris scanner doesn't work properly( Iris scanner is ok but is not as good as having a properly located fingerprint scanner, it's getting more accurate with use though).

i really prefer the glossy finish on the metal frame of the s8 over the matte finish on the s9 or any other samsung. Like you said it has a seamless feel with the front and glass panels which really gives it the feel of a pebble or a smooth rock in the hand

Yeah, I got an almost perfect condition uses s8 for $400. I got it less than a week ago, I do have slight battery issues, but I have a huge battery bank and I'm always near an outlet, (also I keep my screen at 110% so keeping that in mind I shouldn't really expect too much in the battery department), I don't have speaker issues cause I always use a good pair of headphones (Sennheiser HD 4.40s to be exact, which I also picked up at a deal on ebay) and I don't see the fingerprint scanner as too bad an issue since I've taken quite a liking to the Iris scanner. Performance is fine, and so is the camera, but when I'm charging and stressing the phone it tends to get pretty warm. Also if you're like me and want you phone to always look nice and clean, you're gonna be cleaning it alot. These are my thoughts on buying a used s8, so if you're planning to do the same, take this into account

Well if you are happy with your s6 edge...then use it for just 1 more year...my dad has a s6 edge and I use it..it is still pretty good in day to day tasks like instagram...KZbin...Snapchat... even games of size 200-300mb run decently...the only area where it falls behind is speaker and battery...i will recommend you to wait for s10 or if you desperately need to buy a phone...then go for the s8/s8+☺☺

My friend told this to me and this is interesting: the recent samsung flagship has a major update every two years. S4 : plastic S5 : plastic + fingerprint+ waterproof S6 and s7 : edge display S8 and s9 : infinity display So based on that analysis, the s10 maybe something dope, like the s8. Making the previous phones doesn't look as good (s7 edge aren't beautiful anymore since the s8 launched)

I am a proud owner of my exynos s8 and I love it I have it since 2-3 months and I really like it I upgraded from the s6 edge mind you, I also always install a custom Rom on my phone but this phone is amazing I mean the fingerprint sensor annoyed me at first but I also use the facial recognition which works 90% of the time

It has great charging , a big screen , good battery , it's very fast and rootable . My brother has an s9 plus and barely even plays any games on it . Why did he get it ? Because it's a nice phone .
