No, they meant that 'ass' and 'arse' are different words, it's not an accent or anything, we do use both words over here. Usually when you quote someone you write down what is actually said, not change it to allign with your own personal lexicon.

@MrZuccy With Peter Cook as Sir Arthur Streeb Greebling if I'm not mistaken. Classic radio with Morris mentioning that Cook was on death's door and Cook actually dying a few months later. I particularly liked the bit about his dad putting him in prison as a young child and him being stuffed down an adult's trousers because he had no clothes of his own. Had me laughing out loud quite heartily.
