I think what might be missing from your understanding of what makes this shot special, is that cricket is played with a pretty heavy ball and a heavy bat and a wide field, so everyone defending looks at how the bat connects with the bat to guess where it's going so they can get a jump on it and reduce the distance in the field by going in the right direction. But when the bat starts high to gain power and then whips around, and then at the wrist can decide in a second the angle to meet the ball - that's a difficult shot to defend.

Ms Dhoni had a friend named Santos, and during one of the local matches Santosh hits this shot at the last ball to win the match. Then Dhoni requested Santosh to teach him this helicopter shot and santosh used to be treated with samosa snack. So he got it from his closest friend santosh.

Dhoni never hit 6 on a yorker. The deliveries were on the slot. Even Andrew flintoff said that he didn’t mind bowling to Dhoni because his feet were jammed in the crease. But abd came and started turning yorkers into low full tosses. That's why abd can hit 6 on a yorker but Dhoni can't.

But yeah flintoff would not say that when he was playing i am sure dhoni has bashed the best pretty much well abd is on other level no doubt but man he has hit some yorkers well converting them to low full tosses and a little bit slot if not even that the margin of error was so less. I mean how could u right but keeping in mind that yorker length is not only on the toe but a few feet here there above the slot on off too he has got a few of those to boundaries right? Btw most impressive players against yorkers for me are abd(for any yorker variation) kohli and sachin (they used to find fours towards fineleg and third man through angled bat that only goes for single for most of the players) u can see the innings against malinga and the four against faulkner in mohali too
