As a wicket keeper there are two conditions by which you can make the batsman out 1) Suppose the batsman hits the ball and before the ball falls on the ground you have to catch it . 2) Like if the batsman is outside the white line, before he comes in you have to hit the wicket by the ball

When he is close to the stumps. Remember that the bowl speed is aroun 80kmph to 100kmph. So u can guess how fast he was. And when he is standing away from the stumps, the bowl speed is 125 to 145kmph

I've met Dhoni's parents in 2011, i went to relatives in Ranchi and they were in same colony, I use to go there and play with them I saw dhoni returning home from a distance with celebration after world cup while i was returning, i couldn't meet dhoni tho😭

if a wicket keeper catches the ball after the batman hit it, it is consider as out. there is another way, if wicket keeper dislodges the wicket (the three sticks) before the batsman reaches the crease (line) it is also consider as out

AMAZING FACT: During the match of WORLD T20 against Bangladesh (the last clip), bangladesh had to make 2 run in 1 ball (and even if Bangladesh tied, India would have lost as per leaderboards). Dhoni ran faster than Ussain Bolt (even with his pads on) and saved all the runs!! Isn't it amazing??

In the movie, when Dhoni was a kid, he asks his mom to buy him a picture of a Indian Cricketer. His name is 'Sachin Tendulkar'. He is named the 'God of the Cricket'. He played international cricket as early as when he was 19 years old. He is inspiration to the whole Indian cricket team, including Dhoni.

The keeper's significant function is to stop conveyances that pass the batsman (prevent runs being scored) but he can also attempt to expel the batsman in different ways:The most widely recognized expulsion affected by the keeper is for him to catch a ball that has scratched the batsman's bat, called an edge before it skips. Now and then the keeper is likewise in a better position to catch a ball which has been hit high. More catches are usually taken by wicket-keepers than by other fielding positions. The wicket keeper can dismiss the batsman by using the ball to hit the stumps and remove the bails if the batsman is not in his crease after a delivery. The keeper then will knock out the bails and if the batsman is still outside the crease then he is out. If a ball is hit into the outfield, the keeper needs to move closer to the stumps to catch the return throw from a fielder and then attempt to run out a batsman. A keeper's position more often than not relies upon the bowler. For fast bowling, the keeper positions himself/herself in squats, slightly away from the stumps to be able to quickly react to edges from the batsman. For slower bowling, the keeper is nearer to the stumps to pressurise the batsman to stay within the crease to avoid getting stumped. ❤

Usually in a cricket match, there's 3 wickets you may see and upon then there's 2 bells. Whenever dhoni is hitting the wickets, the bells goes off. When the bells goes off the red light comes out from the wickets. It's not editing but real.

@2:43 what the wicket keeper is doing here is called "stumping" where the batter/batsman has been drawn outside the crease/line while trying to hit the ball. You can see his leg is outside the line. So Dhoni has to grab the incoming ball and hit the wickets before he can put his leg back in. You can see how fast he has to do all that.

There are 3 Ways a wicket keeper can dismiss a batsman on crease 1. Caught behind/Caught out: This is a simple form of caught out when the ball from a bowler touches/gets hit (even in a slightest edge) by the bat of batsman, and any player from the bowler's team(including the bowler himself) gets hold of the ball before the ball touches the Ground, then the batsman is Declared as Out/Dismissed and he should leave the field. If a Keeper does that, the batsman is called "Caught behind" . This is difficult for a wicket keeper because he has a very less reaction time as the ball usually comes with a speed of 140kmph in seam and 90kmph with a lot of turn and he needs to keep his eye on the ball through the Bowling. In case if keeper misses the ball out, the ball will move towards the boundary behind and the batsman may get runs. And , the wicket keeper does not have much time to trace the exact path traced by ball after being hit by bat. Hence he may even have to fly or dive to get hold of the ball. 2. Stump Out: This is most commonly seen in Spin balls. The major difference between spin and seam balls is , a seam ball comes mostly in a straight line unless added to a swing by the bowler. The swing depends on the Skill of bowler and the Amount of roughness of ball. Seam balls are usually high speed balls and hence the wicket keeper usually stands far away from the stumps giving him some reaction time to catch the ball. But Spin ball is usually slower one . The ball bounces on the ground before reaching the Batsman and this bounce will change the course of ball drastically ( Refer The Spin King , the Australian Legend, Shane Warne videos). This change of course may Confuse the batsman and he might leave the Crease ( the Line on which he stands while hitting the ball) in order to attempt a long huge shot. In case if the batsman moves out of the line/crease and he misses the ball , then the wicket keeper can get hold of the ball and hit the stumps with it before the batsman can reach his line again by his bat or foot. If the wicket keeper succeeds in this attempt, the batsman is Out/Dismissed and called "STUMPED OUT". This is a close call for the referee and if the stumps dislodge even when the Batsman has his Bat or Foot on the line, in that case also he shall be declared out. For the batsman to be safe from stumping, his foot or bat, should cross the Crease line at any cost before the stumps get dislodged from The Wicket Keeper. Dhoni has the record of Highest Number of Stumping . This is also based on Reaction time. If keeper gets hold of the ball and hits the stumps in that fraction of second before the batsman realises his mistake and gets back to crease, then they can dismiss the batsman. Else, the batsman survives and can continue play. Also when the Batsman's foot or bat is inside the crease line but is in the air(not touching the ground even for a moment) and if the keeper succeeds in stumping, he is Declared OUT!! 3. Run out: A Wicket Keeper can guide the ball to the stumps which is received from any fielder initiating a RunOut! However the batsman is called Dismissed by a RunOut in the name of fielder and not the Wicket Keeper

Let me help you out, if the batsman is inside the crease (white line) , and dhoni hits the stumps , then it's not out if the batsman is outside the crease, and dhoni hits stumps before that, then it's out and it will be a wicket when batsman slide down,then there should be physical connection between bat and batsman, which means bat should be holded by batsman

Hi Sean and Alissa, just to solve your confusion, the wicket keeper is the fielder who stands behind the three stumps(sticks as you called them). He receives the ball if the batsman misses the ball or it takes the edge of the bat. If the ball touches the edge and the keeper catches, the batter is out and the keeper doesn't need to hit the stumps. If the batter is standing out of his crease, the keeper needs to hit to hit the stumps with the ball in his hands to get him out before he returns to the crease. As the keeper receives balls at speed of 90 to 160 km an hour, the keeper is the only one who wears the protective kits like gloves, helmets and leg guards. I think that should be enough. I would love to play the sport with you poeple once you visit India.

Watch the cricket rules video, If baller hits the wicked it's out, if boller throw the ball and batsman hits if someone catches including wicketkeeper it's out . But once get bounced in field then if someone got it but batsman is out of the crease (that line) he throws the ball to wicket or to the wicketkeeper to hit .

Just to explain those who don't follow cricket keeper is someone standing behind the wickets to collect the ball if batter miss it. Batter is not allowed to go out of that white line or keeper can get him out by hitting the ball to the wicket

If the batsman is away from the crease that's the line ..the wicket keeper can pull the wickets..and make him out coz he's outside the crease or line..that's why he's hitting the wickets..

Those three sticks (stumps) are actually used in modern day cricket & they actually glow when the bails are off the sticks. It's not edited

in one of the scenes the batsman was inside the line but then also MS manages to take his wicket, that's because when the batsman was inside the line he slightly lifted his leg which was inside the line, and during that milli oh sorry micro second dhoni manages to hit the bails(the batsman is inside the line but as his leg was in the air, technically he is outside the line, so the umpire awards a wicket). (at 2:10 and 7:29) he literally waits for the batsman to lift his leg as he knows he is unbalanced, then uses that chance
