A musical genius who refused to be a money machine zombie for record label executives. She put all of them in their place. She said, " they wanted me on stage, hotel room, and recording studio 24/7". She refused and told them that she has a partner, kids, and home that need her. Raise your glass and praise Ms Hill for putting executives in their place. Donna Summer did it too, may her strong soul RIP

Yes!!! Finally I’ve read a comment from someone who understands. The music industry couldn’t handle her high standards, wisdom and value she know that she is. For her time she was sooo wise. On her MTV Unplugged album she talked about how she was losing her mind trying to keep up with that and she just got tired. She said they called her crazy and deranged and she didn’t care bc she had peace. I just love her music.

She elevated women with her lyrical heart & soul as opposed to the current female rappers who degrade & shame themselves on stage by “dressing” & acting on stage as though they’re existing merely for the pleasure of “men” which is a tragedy & a travesty! I do not judge them in any way because I understand “the industry” is a psychopathic evil profit driven machine which needs to be held accountable! The current female rappers are the true victims. I cry for all of them. Tragically the general consensus is “but look at all the millions of dollars they’re making” to which I say they’re selling their soul & become trapped before realizing it. By then they believe it’s too late. No amount of money is worth that. This’s why I feel profound respect for Lauren Hill. She chose a path of being true to herself which IMHO is honorable irrespective of all the bullshit from “friends & the industry” Please remember no one walks in anyone’s shoes!

SO IT WAS REPORTED THAT EVERYONE WAS VERY FREAKEDOUT THAT SHE HAD SPEAD UP EACH SONG SO SO VERY FAST LIKE THIS AND AND ALSO SHE GAVE THE WHO CREW AND EVEN THE PROMOTERS A HARD TIME ABOUT THE SPEED. SO SHE LEFT EVERYONE CONFUSED. THINK ABOUT IT IF YOU PAY GOOD MONEY TO HEAR YOU FAV SONGS YOU WANNA HEAR THEM AT LEAST CLOSE TO WHAT THEY SOUND LIKE. SHE MADE THEM SOUND NOTHING LIKE THE ORIGINALS. I BELIEVE SHE WENT BACK INTO SERIOUS MENTAL TREATMENT AGAIN AFTER THIS OR SHE MAY HAVE BEEN IN THE MIDDLE OF TREATMENT. SHE REALLY DID IT BECAUSE SHE NEEDED THE MONEY BADLY.

5:23 It could all be so simple But you'd rather make it hard Loving you is like a battle And we both end up with scars Tell me, who I have to be To get some reciprocity No one loves you more than me And no one ever will Is this just a silly game That forces you to act this way? Forces you to scream my name Then pretend that you can't stay Tell me, who I have to be To get some reciprocity No one loves you more than me And no one ever will No matter how I think we grow You always seem to let me know It ain't workin', It ain't workin' (No, it ain't workin') And when I try to walk away You'd hurt yourself to make me stay This is crazy, this is crazy (This is crazy, uh-huh) I keep letting you back in How can I explain myself? As painful as this thing has been I just can't be with no one else See I know what we've got to do You let go, and I'll let go too 'Cause no one's hurt me more than you And no one ever will No matter how I think we grow You always seem to let me know It ain't workin', It ain't workin' (It ain't workin') And when I try to walk away You'd hurt yourself to make me stay This is crazy, this is crazy Care for me, care for me I know you care for me There for me, there for me Said you'd be there for me Cry for me, cry for me You said you'd die for me Give to me, give to me Why won't you live for me? Care for me, care for me You said you care for me There for me, there for me Said you'd be there for me Cry for me, cry for me You said you'd die for me Give to me, give to me Why won't you live for me? Care for me, care for me You said you care for me There for me, there for me Said you'd be there for me Cry for me, cry for me You said you'd die for me Give to me, give to me Why won't you live for me? Cardi ain't a rapper. Doesn't write anything. Is still a stripper, performing 😂 And nicki is a better mc. Even Lauryn would say that. Lauryn was just first in the evolution three. Plus has better music but didn't write shit too on her solo album so nicki is winning. She is that real mc. Even though she only makes pop music. 😂 😂

Phenomenonal woman. I don't know of any other artist that has anywhere close to being able to sing and then switch to rap so fluidly. She has a God given gift. I would love for her to make more music. My opinion on the way all the songs were sang in a faster tempo. I believe she may have been given a short time slot, and being as tho she knew her fans wanted to hear all her songs, if even just a snippet. That may have been the result of them being so fast. In the end; this is just my personal opinion. Loved the performance non the less. Can't wait for her to come back to Philly. Love you Miss Hil. Bless up mi Empress
