If Henry VIII could have seen this, her daughter as Queen and stronger than any king a man may be.

I suspect that, like many powerful men who have successful daughters but no sons, he might puff himself up over her success - “no mere woman could rule - other than MY daughter.”

“Elizabeth shall be a greater queen than any king of yours! She will rule a greater England than you could ever have built. MY Elizabeth shall be queen, and my blood will have been well spent!” Anne was not doubt smiling down on her daughter when she made this speech

Queen Elizabeth's speech at Tilbury should be required reading at each of this countys' Armed Forces Academy's

I mean it’s a cool speech. But amongst the reams and reams of mandatory reading at Sandhurst, this would not help produce better leadership than what we do get

I absolutely love this show. I love how they played these characters. Robin made that comment earlier about her having the stomach of a king, and having said she would speak "from her heart of course". Her eyes suddenly spark at 3:20 and she has that big smile before declaring she has the heart and stomach of a king, "and of a king of England too!". Robin behind her smiling so proudly (not smugly) that he had even a small part in that. He is her heart

How does a woman give a fighting speech to men? Helen Mirren shows how it's done, NO other actress has done the Tilbury Speech as well as Helen. She probably did it better than Elizabeth herself! Maybe, I wasn't there of course! But I'd follow Helen down the barrel of a cannon after a speech like that!

Your not hated, you just live your lives differently and some don’t understand it so they judge it as wrong. I for one would be proud to fight alongside my gypsy brothers, especially if this Ukraine conflict worsens. We may have different lifestyles but we are still brothers in arms, fighting for the country we both love.
