Ever see the video's where all these guys have tens of thousands of dollars invested in their vehicles and many of them can't make it up the hill............ and then some dude in a used Subaru factory stock family wagon goes up like it was a parade on Main St? They're on KZbin, lol. Great video. Some of those vehicles were definitely bad ass.

i feel like this is such a small hill. This can't be too challenging these vehicles should be running a hill at least 5 times the length even if at the same pitch. That's what they're built for. Now that would be an awesome video. Thanks for the content though!

To those saying this is a small hill, you'd be correct. There are bigger. Even at this particular dune. Keep in mind though, Michigan is sugar sand. Don't judge to harshly if you've never dealt with it. Big difference between it and what others are used to. We have had a wet year here too. Usually you'd sink over you ankles just walking in place that haven't been disturbed in a while.

Anyone else confused as hell by the "scores" at the end? I was under the impression that when scrolling down from top to bottom winner should be on top yet I saw quicker times in the middle and on the bottom in some categories unless the object is the go slow in which case I'm very confused.

bdd1469 I agree with you. Although I don’t deal with sand, I go off-roading quite a bit. And it pisses me off when people make stupid comments about how a hill or obstacle doesn’t look that serious. It’s true. The camera never shows how serious an obstacle really is. Unless you were there in person most people just don’t understand what they’re looking at. I’ve been to the Top Truck Challenge in Hollister Hills in person. But watching it on video makes it look easy.

This is not a steep hill. This is not a long hill & before you say any goddamned thing; I'm a professional timber faller from the Cascades. I've worked hillsides that the trees stood on 80' bluffs. So steep that some sand sure as hell isn't going to stick to the side of a cliff. Where boulders get knocked loose & roll 5000' before they slow down. Now, take your small minded hillbilly eastcoast opinion & fuck yourself.

Corvair powered sand rails/buggies rule! Gobbs of TQ down low, where you want it. Had one I buzzed around Borrego Springs, CA a few years and it was nearly unbeatable, except for a few radical V8 trucks and some of the more serious sand rails. Friend had a Buick aluminum 215(?)V8 mid-mounted in his custom rail and that was an amazing hill climber. Miss the sand and sun.

I know cameras don't do things justice but you can tell its steep. Yes ofcourse it's not as big as say Comp hill and others at Glamis but you also have a running start at those hills compared to a dead stop like this one that makes it alot harder.

When you are at the starting line, it looks impossible. a lot of these cars are bouncing really hard because they're hitting a very steep incline. It's upsetting the suspension big time.

With today's sand cars very few need a running start up competition or even Oldsmobile 💪💪💪. Hell my daughters would climb Comp 25 years ago on ATC 70s, and that's twice the length of this 🤣

Nah it's because of the area. Michigan Sand Drag way is what all these vehicles are built for, which is like 5 miles from there, this climb is just extra because of it.
