We have sailed with MSC 6 times now and have our 7th booked for June 26 and have thoroughly enjoyed our cruises with them. We never use the buffet and can’t fault the food or service in the MDR. We wouldn’t do anything less than 7 nights out of Southampton (saying that we have done 4 nights on QM2 which was amazing) and it has to be out of school holiday time. Friends of our joined us for their first cruise back in 2019 on MSC Splendida out of Dubai and loved every minute. My sister in law and her husband did a 3 night sailing on an RCI ship out of Southampton years ago and they said it would have put them off cruising for good if it had been their first cruise as it was chaotic and like a booze cruise / party ship. Looking forward to part 2.

We were on this trip too! We are P&O cruisers. This was certainly an eye opener. A very different experience.

Hi great video, I am travelling on the same trip in two weeks but nowhere have I read there is a formal night but you mentioned.

It was “apparently” an unofficial formal night. I would say 75% of people were dressed formally, some with tux and dickie, which made me feel very informal in trousers shoes and a shirt. The second night was white night too, but we didn’t take part.

We've just got off the same cruise over the May B/H weekend. We had very similar experience with the bar queues and with the food. The ship was very busy, and a massive party vibe - loads of stag and hen dos. The food appears to be a constant issue with MSC which really let's them down. The staff all work really hard, but there's not enough to manage. This, however, is reflected in the price. V good video, thank you.

We would try the MSC cruises again. Just not on a short hop over a bank holiday.

Got to ask, how did you get an early embarkation time , we are going on the same cruise very soon and have been given an embarkation time of 1600 .

As soon as we could check in we did. We were in the first lot of people allowed on. Some people got 5 pm which was after the emergency drill which didn’t make any sense.

I always aim to be one of the first to check in, specifically to have my choice of time. Leave it, and you get the later times. I do the same with flights to get the best chance of seats together.

When you check in 30 days prior if earlier times are available it will allow you to move it forward. I think we originally had 1pm

You ll have great time the Fjords are fantastic. It’s just our experience on P&O, yours I hope will be excellent but after experiencing other cruise companies we wouldn’t travel with them again.
