Hello Debbie! The joys of KZbin videos is it's never too late, they're always there! LOL Yes the ship was definitely impressive but sooooooo busy! It was hard to find quieter areas to relax. I guess we'll never know if they'd have gone back before 2:30pm to check cleanliness but it seems unlikely given that our room cards were attached to the door. We're glad you enjoyed this first part of the series and hope like the rest too, LOL, thank you so much xx

Those food portions would have been right up my street - there always seems to be so much food I find it quite overwhelming but I know we are all different. I’m glad the two that joined you were lovely - those situations always seem awkward to me but I guess that depends on who you get 😊 I’m looking forward to seeing the rest of this cruise series. Hi Lee! Thank you for watching - I hope it didn't distract you too much! Thank you, our rainbow pride glasses are cheerful aren't they! LOL Yes, we don't usually like to moan but it was a bit too dirty to let pass this time! We're both just too used to big portions, we didn't get this size by dainty eating! Hahaha Yes we were lucky that the two ladies were really nice. We only saw them that first night as we had dining reservations in restaurants the other evenings. We're both well thank you and hope you are too? Xx

Sounds and looks like a bit of a mare for a first day! Least they sorted the room out though. Three cruises and I still don't actually know how a muster station etc works! Admittedly we were supposed to watch a video as part of the Disney cruises and I just got distracted, but I figure people looking scared and water at my ankles = bad is all I need to know 😂🙈 Looking forward to seeing what you guys get up to! - Jo

Hi Jo! Yes it was certainly a manic day! Much busier than we'd hoped it'd be to be honest but the ship was at full capacity so knew it wouldn't be too quiet! 😄 The muster station instructions were as clear as mud so no wonder everyone piled through the ship early like we did 🤷🏻‍♂️.. yes, I think your definition works well, LOL 🌊 🦶🏻🟰👎🏻 We can't wait until we can do a Disney cruise again! We were on this ship on the Emirates in March. It’s very loud but the pizzas were really good and the food was great.

Hi there! Yes, the ship is lovely but gets very loud, especially in the evening when every bar and deck seemed to have its own DJ-whoever! LOL We definitely agree that the food was great! The late night buffet was often hit and miss but you kind of expect that at gone 10pm! 😆

This is really informative. I’m cruising with MSC on the Virtuosa for the first time at the end of August, just myself and my 15 year old son. I’m a bit worried as I’m on my own with him, we’re going to the Norwegian Fjords, this is also a first. I’ve cruised with P&O many times before and also RCI but normally with more family members. I haven’t booked a drinks package as my son only drinks water, so it’s just my drinks I need to buy. I’ve bought the internet package and I’ve booked the Flam Railway excursion but other than that, I thought we would wing it. We have the Fantastica package so we are in one of the main restaurants for evening meal and we get room service. Any tips or advice you may have would be welcome. I’m travelling from Chippenham btw.

Hi there! Sorry for the late reply, it's been a busy day ☺️ We're glad you found the video helpful ... We're not experts in any way and this was our first time with MSC but we'll see if we can help. Firstly we want to say how envious we are - we went to Norway on last year's cruise aboard P&O Iona, so know the absolutely beautiful scenery you'll see next month! We can't wait to go back some when! As for the Virtuosa itself, it's a very family-orientated ship with a large area of entertainment for kids.. we didn't explore it thoroughly as don't have kids ourselves but we're sure there was a separate area for teens, not just young kids. There was definitely a sports court where we saw kids playing too. There is an entertainment pass you can buy which you can use to pay for bowling etc, if that's of interest to your son and yourself, though we'd recommend checking MSC's website for fuller, more accurate details. The pools were very busy when we were there and it sounds like you'll be aboard during the school summer holiday (?) so could be packed then too, but there were several pools throughout the ship plus a waterpark at the top rear of the ship which looked fun, though we never went in it. (We would add here that NEXT Sunday's vlog, Part 3, is a ship tour where we show as much of the ship as we could film so that may help more too). We had the Bella experience package, our main dining room was The Minuetto at the back of the ship, which was very good - we glanced through the windows of the other dining rooms in passing and they looked equally good, though didn't eat in them. We're in Swindon, just down the road from you in Chippenham, so travelling to Southampton shouldn't take long depending on how you're getting there - Dan drove us there and it took approximately 1½hours. If there's anything more specific you would like to know, please just ask and we'll try our best to help ☺️ Bob & Dan x

I'm sure you'll definitely have a great time, Norway is so beautiful, the fjords are stunning! As a shameless plug, LOL, we did vlog last year's Norway cruise if you want to skim through any parts of that series to see what it's like over there, even if your itinerary of ports may differ, being a different company? We would also say if you do have any problems or queries aboard the Virtuosa, the staff all seemed very friendly and helpful x
