MSC VS ROYAL CARIBBEAN: Here's what I liked better on MSC!

We just sailed on MSC for the first time and loved it. We sailed out of Miami on the Seascape for two weeks. I am platinum on Carnival, and have sailed on Royal Caribbean and Disney. I was pleasantly surprised with MSC, and do plan to vacation with them again in the near future.

Bur wait! there's more.. -What I like is the price, which is about half of a RC cruise. -Drink packages are cheaper starting at $48 and gratuities are included in the drink package. -In my opinion better looking ships. -healthier food options -International flair a - most cruises kids cruise free - promotions for free drink package and free wifi with cruise credit. When was the last time RC had such promotion. - embarking tomorrow on Trans-Atlantic cruise from Miami to Barcelona for 17 days. $ 2000 total price for 2 including easy plus drink package, Wi-fi for 2 and $100 cabin credit including taxes and port charges. Hello?

I’m on the seaside now for Mother’s Day with my family and I’m in the Deluxe suite in the yacht club. We just docked in the Bahama’s.

There are a few major differences on msc the service was subpar and the specialty restaurant had a hidden deficiency the package deal was limited on chops and other restaurants had two menus one for package deal and a better selection for the none package selection.

I went on MSC in March and had a great time. I would just ocean cay for 5 days if they had a cruise like that. So peaceful and relaxing. Food was good enough I'm not a fancy person and the price of the cruise was very affordable. Going on it again soon

We were on the cruise before the bad rating. Had a wounderful time in spite of it being at full capacity. The food was as good as any in 53 cruises. Entertainment was way better. Our third on MSC this year and will certainly cruise with them again. The problems were mostly crew training and guest sloppiness issues based on my read of the report.

I love MSC! As a budget solo cruiser, so far I’ve only been able to afford cruising on MSC as they are by leaps and bounds the cheapest line for solos! (They almost always waive the solo supplement versus Carnival almost never does). I’ve had all good experiences so far! I know a lot of people in US don’t like MSC but my experiences have all been so positive so this was nice to see MSC finally get some love! Since Royal literally never waives the solo supplement and even charges more than 100% supplements on the new ships for solos, I don’t know if or when I’ll realistically ever be able to sail on them until I find a spouse or a travel buddy. But for now since I love to travel and have no one to go with, I’ll continue to enjoy my budget cruises without solo supplements on MSC! Haven’t been on this ship yet and can’t wait!

Thanks for the helpful video! I have only cruised on Royal Caribbean and am a big fan but my last cruise had several issues. It wasn't horrible, but it was the worst cruise yet. As a result, I have just booked an MSC cruise. I am looking forward to it.

I had an incredible time in the nightclub every night on my 11 night sailing on the Divina! Diverse age groups and lots of people buying drinks for everyone, fun music and the DJ took requests.

I'm going to be pn my first MSC cruise next year, to the Mediterranean. I'm Diamond Plus with RCCL, so I wasn't sure how I would like MSC. Your video makes me hopeful.

MSC is our favorite cruisline. Our last 3 we did the Yacht Club experiance and it was amazing. Our next will be World Europa in April out of Barcelona.

All the big ships from royal Caribbean cruise line are taking turns in Galveston TX now. This November the harmony of the seas is coming to Galveston TX for awhile. Then it will be one of the other big ships.

She is talking up the extra pay restaurants. Maybe that was good but buffet was bland, little to choose from. Breads were inedible at times.

It depends how you like to eat. The food is for European pallets. Years ago we had EU health directive to reduce the salt and sugar in our food and now that’s how we are use to eating. When I went to America I found the food way too salty and rich for my taste. I guess it all comes down to how you like to eat. MSC nail pizza, pasta, fresh bakery and there salad and continental meats selection. If burgers and hotdogs are your staple then an American line will probably do that better.

I've been to restaurants and have had a great time and great food only to find out that people I was with hated it. There are always going to be unhappy people and they are the ones likely to post on social media.

Currently on my first MSC cruise out of NY. Have sailed NCL, Royal, and Carnival. Meraviglia is a beautiful ship, I love everything about it EXCEPT the food. The buffet food is the same everyday and lacks flavor. If they can step up the food game, I can see them being very successful in the US.

Have you tried the pizza? I’ve heard a lot of MSC haters say they still enjoyed the pizza. If you request vegetarian food at the buffet such as a veggie burger, they will also prepare it fresh for you, and to your liking. I have to say that I don’t like the food at Ocean Cay since there’s no vegetarian options, but for the price, I will still continue to sail on MSC and enjoy everything else.

@@lexa_power The pizza is great, but there's only so much pizza you can eat in a week. The buffet seems to have the same food everyday, definitely limited options for vegetarians. I'm not a hater because the ship decor, pools, and overall space is great. Just think the food can be improved with more variety.

If you mean stepping up there food by chucking a load of salt and sugar in their food to not make it “bland” I really really REALLY hope they don’t. I really struggled to eat the food in America, its too salty and rich for my taste. MSC is a European line and their food is perfect for European palates.

I am not a fan of any buffet. It changes very little and is not innovative by design. It's a fast in and out. If food is important, try a seated dinner and be open to new things.

I like the quieter, less developed island. I wouldnt get off the ship for RC moneygrab island. I travel for sun, sand, water.

The MSC ships just cannot compete with Royal Oasis Class ships. Amenities, ship layout, onboard entertainment , onboard activities. Royal wins on all.

Every piece of bread was stale, even when just brought out from back. Pizza crust was good but toppings were terrible, they actually used hot dog slices as sausage. Regular buffet food was bland and had few choices. They had good ethnic food but usually only 3 items per dinner. Seaside 5/23

They aren’t sailing out of Long Beach / San Pedro yet either, but I’m hopeful! It’s still cheaper for me to fly from LA to Florida and cruise on MSC with no solo supplement than to cruise on Carnival or Royal out of my hometown 😂🤦🏼‍♀️

MSC had awful reviews before covid. One of their ships just got one of the lowest food safety scores in modern history. I'll pass, thanks.

Sailed MSC, was the worst vacation we ever had, it was boring, bad food, annoying announcements, super crowded......don't believe the hype. You get what you pay for.
