My guess would be length of pipe causing flame to not make it out of the tips. With a side exit in front of the rear tire and it would probably do it.

I had msd 2 step on my 2009 Chevy Silverado and had it set at 2500 rpms and when you rev it if you pop it to drive then back to neutral quickly before it engages into gear it shot huge flames I would def try it!

@@lmfscrew 😂😂that’s what I thought when my buddy showed me but when you go from neutral to drive then back to neutral quickly it never engages into gear so when you are revving it it somehow does something when you do it and shoots a big flame I will dm you a vid of my truck doing it!

My understanding is 2 step basically lowers your rev limiter. you can control this by cutting fuel and spark. To shoot flames you leave to fuel on and only cut spark. keep in mind this can be hard on catalectic convertors

Get a small turbo set up and you will get flames spitting out with the unburdened fuel. I’ve only seen trucks and cars with turbos that are able to do 2step like that to get their vehicles to spit flames. Or do as another person said and get bigger headers. If you can creat more compression you should get it to spit flames with out a turbo. Technically going the round drag racers go.

Can you set the revs while driving so it just pop pop pops while you drive. Mine isn't stick shift either but you even if I can pop it in to neutral and blip the throttle I'll do that.

If you modified it so you can drive around with stock exhaust cats and muffler it's almost impossible to shoot flames without blowing them out. Take and install cutouts with switch and exhaust out the side bypassing all the DOT 💩 and you're going to see flames boy are you gonna see flames. Always works to get rid of anything obstructing the flow of your exhaust. Just make it sure it goes past edge of the truck. Have fun as I did until I wrecked my Dodge D100. Yes that's right no 50 in number. Only thing I had to look out for was a cop nearby when it was getting passed inspection.

You cant bypass the cats on these trucks. They're right at the end of the Y pipes where they bolt to the manifolds. Aftermarket headers with no cats is your only option

Sounds like there’s a catalytic converter or a cherry bomb. Those would restrict any flames from the engine getting much further from the manifold. Also I’d recommend trying 4500rpms. No higher than 5k but I’d slowly work my way down from there

Best way to get consistent flames with ignition cut is by retarding the ignition timing, but you need to tune the truck to do that

@@chrisbarragan3159 That really depends on what your budget looks like. Could mean getting a set of 243 heads ported & polished with a nice set of valves, 1:7 rockers, and honeycomb springs. Or you could get a set of Trick Flow if you have a little more to spend. Going to Texas Speed and talking to those guys for your exact needs/wants is a great place to start bud. Those guys know how to make American horsepower.

Does it still have the catalytic converters? If it doesn’t try the spark plug trick because your exhaust is pretty long on a full size truck the flames aren’t getting to the tip

And as for flames you need to retard ignition significantly too get flames i believe and that 2step is probably only grounding the coil intermittently at a set rpm , not an expert on this topic maybe there's is more to it 😉
