Ross, Another great video! For this application do you prefer the dual crimp style terminals over the style where you bend the conductor back?

Thanks. We supply the MSD wires with the dual crimp style connectors. The fold over type used on some other brands seem to work fine too.

Quick question. How do you know where to set the tension setting on the crimpers? Is there a corresponding wire diameter for each notch or is it more trial and error?

The MSD crimpers are only designed to crimp the 8.5mm terminals and wire. Squeeze until it clicks, squeeze again to release. Done.

Use 3M Clear Silicone Paste (available at all auto stores) as the lube, or dielectric grease.

The silicone paste or dielectric grease stays slippery so the boots can slide after assembly. Ok with angled boots maybe but annoying when pulling straight ones. I prefer the boots to stay put once installed.

Will the crimpers do the smaller 7mm plug wires?

The standard dies are designed for 8.5mm cable only however the dies bolt on and someone may sell different dies to crimp smaller cable. I haven't checked into that as well only use the 8.5mm cable.

hello, i just installed them on my v8 engine and the grey boots are straight and are touching the headers, will that be a problem? also, can you bend the straight boots to be in angle?

They don't recommend direct contact of the boots or wires with the headers. Might try some 45 deg boots.
