MSF report reveals more than 25 000 people treated for sexual violence in 2023

In 2023 and 2024, the number of MSF consultations for victims of sexual violence in the DRC is at an all-time high, with the overwhelming majority of victims in and around the IDP sites in Goma, close to the front lines of the conflict with the M23 in North Kivu.
With over 25,000 victims treated in 2023, admissions were 150% higher than the previous years, and the trend in the first months of 2024 is even worse.
