The 72" Denali Snow plow works well with the Can Am Commander. In one weekend I plowed about 42 miles of road and driveways. The plow has a 3" wear bar on the bottom and during the weekend it lost 1/2" of material.

Thats a nice machine, we have a Can Am Maverick DS Turbo, which I hate, would much rather have had the Commander. We elected to mount the snow blade on our Polaris Sportsman 550 instead of the Can Am as I was worried about snow blow back on the windshield obstructing the view too much and did'nt want to invest in a set of wipers for it. At any rate you got a fine machine and great plow, I am in awe that you did 42 miles worth of plowing in a weekend !, you're a good neighbor, thanks for sharing.

I have to say my Commander will never have the abuse the plow will put on it. I purchased a Snow Dogg V-plow for my 1 ton Power Stroke. And got a 259B3 Cat Skidsteer. But then I have a driveway 2 mi. Long in the Mountains of Montana. Made sense to me to do it right in sometime 3 ft. Drifts.

I highly recommend the flap kit. I have the same plow on my 14 XT-p. The flap helps keep a lot of that powder from blowing up in your face. The plow markers make things a bit easier as well. You won't get as much wear on the wear bar, if you move a few of the washers around on the plow feet. I have mine set, to where the wear bar is about 1/16" off the pavement. It doesn't get it as clean, where you see pavement. But, it gets it low enough to where the sun melts it when it comes out. Saves me from buying a new wear bar every couple years. That's what the feet are there for.
@msfirefighter6628 жыл бұрын
+FTORC1 “FTORC-TV” Thanks for the tips, I have since installed a DIY flap kit and will be working on some markers, This season I have plowed over 50 miles of road and drive ways that resulted in the loss of 1/2" on the wear bar. I went to the local welding shop and had them cut a new one that is 5/8" thick instead of the 3/16" OEM from motoalliance, I also had them make it 1/2" taller and it only cost $20 which is 3x cheaper then OEM. That should last A LOT longer under any skid settings. Thanks for the comment, Please Share & subscribe

Nice job on the video and editing...Taking 1/2" off the wear bar in one weekend is alarming. I've used a 54" Warn plow on my 500 Sportsman for 11 seasons with no wear bar damage, the reason being I lowered the little round feet on the bottom of the blade. My lane is 1/4 mile long and gravel so I must not disturb the gravel any more than necessary. Let the feet take the wear and save the wear bar
@msfirefighter6627 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the advice, I have lowered the feet by modifying their rubber adjusters to the new wear bar. I have not had a change to try it out this season. Thanks for the comment, please Share & Subscribe.
@noenthusiasts4 жыл бұрын
We did this on blades to reduce wrecking the gravel. Split a pipe lengthwise with a cutting torch the same width as the blade. Probably 1 1/2 and weld straps on each end at a 90 degree angle with a 5/8 hole in it. Shove the cutting edge into the spilt and drill holes to bolt the straps onto the side of the blade. It floats over gravel while the weight of the snow pushes it down.

the idea of a snatch block on the plow looks like it works great i need to do that I'm constantly snapping my synthetic cable from it jerkin .do you have a video on how to rig that up
@msfirefighter6627 жыл бұрын
I do not have anything specific to the snatch block but can try to put something together. If you are using a synthetic rope I would recommend installing a roller to help in addition to the snatch block. Something like this. motoalliance.com/Site.Store.go?action=gotoProductDetails&id=1274

I see this video is a few years old . How has the Denali snow plow held up? I have a commander & am looking to buy a snow plow for it . I can purchase a 72” Denali & have it delivered to my house for an estimated $632.00 . But I’m not sure if it’s the same snow plow you have in the video.

It has held up very well over the years. My 72" is for sale and I can arrange a meet up delivery along the route from southern Al to lexington Ky or Chattanooga Tn

How are you getting your plow to scrape to pavement? My motoalliance plow leaves about 1/4" of snow even with the plow feet off. I switched to a poly scraper in hopes it would be better than the metal, it is MUCH quieter, but still leaves snow behind. would prefer to scrape down to asphalt each time so I don't have a sheet of ice on my drive if it freezes.
@msfirefighter6627 жыл бұрын
It may have to do with there being a thin layer of ice under the snow. Other then that I am not sure, it just does. Thanks for the comment, please Share & Subscribe.

What do you think about the Alpine Flex plow by BRP, i know it is twice the money but i like the idea of it being lighter and should be easier on winch and machine. Trying to decide which way I should go for this winter

i have the same plow from them on my commander i love it.. but ive snapped so many mount bolts its not even funny lol
@msfirefighter6628 жыл бұрын
+John Smith Are you breaking the bolts of the mount plate to the commander or some of the bolts on the plow itself and what do you think is causing the failure?
@sicilianplaya238 жыл бұрын
+msfirefighter662 bolts from mount to commander.. honestly i think its because the plow is so dam heavy and there only 4-6 bolts holding all this together... they have to redsign the mount because it hangs way to low and if you dont raise the suspension youll always hit the mount on the floor.. ive had this plow for 3 years its good and bad.. my next one is the can am one.. all plasti and durable as hell
@msfirefighter6628 жыл бұрын
