MSFS 2020 / WORLD UPDATE 6 / MISSING SIMULATOR REPAIRED - HD

Hey guys, Today the World Update 6 was released. When I tried to install as usual, I ran into some issues and thought the sim was completely deleted. Luckily I was able to get it working without having to reinstall the whole sim again, hope this helps!

Im not sure why, i havent had much issues in earlier updates, it just happened to me on this update. Im juat happy its workikg again🙏

Someone else pointed to installing XBox, not just the game bar. Then, you can find MSFS 2020 and the update you need to install from the store. Then proceed tot he Sim where the large update begins. Finally go to the Marketplace to install the new scenery.

Your correct that worked for some people, just the log out and back in of xbox app and it should apprear back in the store. I did try that in my case, logout of both the xbox app and store and thats when the option in the MS store changed from "launch/play" to "install". Thats when i thought the sim was deleted. Luckily when i clicked install and pointed it to the existing location it corrected itself. Thanks for the update, happy flying

I had the same thing i didn't have the Xbox app installed as it wasn't needed before. Then the update appeared in the store.this is for PC version.

@@jeffreyuprichard3754 yes your right, lately the need for the world updates and sim updates is: windows upto date, graphics upto date, sim upto date, xbox app upto date and logged in, and store logged in. I would day most issues when updating crome from 1 or multiple of those items.

I had 3 re-install, full 32 hours each. Don't understand why it needs to completely install the software all over again.

It shouldn't have too. I believe something was different about this last world update, many people struggled with the same thing. Some managed to get it working while others had to re-install the sim. I'm sorry you had to go through that, I know how frustrating it is believe me. Hopefully you got everything sorted and your back up and running

I installed the world update. I didnt get offered any of the other updates though. And It still won't load. After I make a flight plan

So after the world update you didn't have any new updates in your "content manager"??

@@Alberto.Barros there were none. It works now but I can't fly Chicago to Toronto. But other airports I can.

@@Alberto.Barros it just doesn't load not even getting to a crash state. The blue bar on the loading screen will just stick in one place just above the middle. Tried new york to Toronto and it works fine.

@@Clovenbulb I could be wrong but that sounds like you might have a mod conflicting with the scenery... do you have anything in your community folder? Also can you depart from Chicago with no flight plan, also from Toronto?

Every time there is a world update... when I go in, it says I'm TWO updates behind. I DL them both and everything seems to work. Anyone else had this?

I have not experienced that yet... do you see the content for the world updates in your "content manager" in sim? And do they show upto date?

@@Alberto.Barros I always have to go to content manager to make sure I have everything. It always says the last one is missing, and I know it isn't, because I just went through this on the LAST world update. Sorry if I wasn't clear.

@@VroodenTheGreat ok thanks for that info.... just another question to try narrow down the issue, when you look at your world map, does it show all the airports and poi's for the regions it says its missing in the content manager? (Like does your world map look like mine in the video with all those yellow markers showing the POI's and airport for the region thats missing)?

@@Alberto.Barros I have never looked, it says I need 2 and I DL 2... But I will definitely check Germany the next time before I just DL it again.

@@VroodenTheGreat check and let me know. Normally once you do a world update the map is a good indication if it worked correctly or not. If it doesnt change after we can check the install location and see where its beijg installed and if thats the right location for the sim to pick it up.

Same thing happened to me too kind of confusing and unclear only option was to install

Thats what happened to me, only option was install. Its like the sim was there but both the store ans the xbox app couldnt find its location. Never had that before, just happy it ended up working out without installing everything again

There was some fixes brought in but the world update like navigation amd performance but you might not notice them as much.... the real visual chnage you can see is the world update content itself. Check your sim marketplace - world update and make surr you downloaded the latest free world update for "germany, switzerland, austria". When thats done, make sure everythijg in content manager is up to date and the you should have nee discovery flights, new bush trips, amd more importantly on the world map you should see all new airports, city data and poi's to fly around in that area of Germany, Switzerland, Austria.
