May I suggest timeframes of 1/3 checklist and 2/3 teaching flying. This should keep “almost” everyone happy. Thanks spending your time on making super videos like this one.

Thanks! Very helpful. one thing. It's not missing, just a tip. If you are in cruise in this airplane and are using the sim rate (2x4x etc) you will notice this airplane wobbles up and down really badly while crusing at your flight level with AP on... especially with live weather. You can alleviate that wobbling by setting your flight level 500 feet higher than you want, selecting FLC, then putting the climb rate to 0. So it's actually never gonna go 500 feet more. But it will smooth out your cruise substatially.

This is minor but the one thing they didn't do accurately are engine sounds. Looks like Asobo went with the 4 bladed variant which more sounds like the PC12 in real life. This one however had its sounds recorded from the 3 bladed model.
@thatflightsimchannel
@thatflightsimchannel 3 күн бұрын
Very interesting details! In my years working the ramp, I never noticed the audible difference between say a 3-bladed C208 and a 5-bladed TBM or PC-12. However, we could hear an MU-2 approaching for miles 😆granted that’s due to the infamously shorter exhausts and the famous Garret AiResearch turbos and not necessarily anything to do with the blades

I was thought when learning to fly g1000’s aircraft NEVER use vertical speed when climbing, especially in IFR conditions, because the plane will stall itself trying to maintain a a set climb if power settings are adjusted properly, it’s safer to use FLC because you set a speed to climb at and it will pitch for said speed, you can adjust that to maintain desired climb rate.
@thatflightsimchannel
@thatflightsimchannel 3 күн бұрын
@@Flash1776_ I’ve never heard of such a stringent learning model where you’re not immediately introduced to both methods. Instead, shying away from learning VS could lead to disaster later on. However, yes, FLC is a safer and easier function to use in your climb.
@Flash1776_
@Flash1776_ 3 күн бұрын
@ I’m not sure, all of the instructors then taught it the same way, FLC for climb, VS for descents, I was introduced to both, that’s just how I was taught to use each function. Not saying it doesn’t work, of course it does. Maybe it was a school policy, I’m not sure

Thank you this video. What are the Conditioner settings for the following please 🙏: Cruise Decent, Low Cruise, Approach Level. For Approach Decent and Landing Conditioner settings will be High Idle. Keep up the good work 👍
@thatflightsimchannel
@thatflightsimchannel 3 күн бұрын
Your Condition Lever should always stay on HIGH IDLE for all portions of flight. We only drop to LOW IDLE once we're on the ground and taxiing in/out of the ramp. Thank you for the feedback!

Can you show your controller for the C208? I'm having a tough time configuring a TCA Throttle for this plane
@billjones6128
@billjones6128 4 күн бұрын
Use FLC for ascents not VS. Using FLC on the climb out prevents losing air speed if distracted and getting into a stall situation. In FLC, the plane maintains constant speed by adjusting VS. Use VS for descents
@thatflightsimchannel

Very good point! I mentioned this in the video at some point but I still prefer to manage power myself during ascent. Thank you for your feedback!

This is great! My throttle quadrant is set up for reverse thrust. How do I set it up for beta range?
@thatflightsimchannel
@thatflightsimchannel Күн бұрын
On my controls I have it set as "Throttle Decrease". It puts it in BETA for me with that command along the throttle axis. If I want to go to reverse from there, I just go to IDLE and it further decreases the throttle to reverse. Then I have to just cycle the lever up past idle and bring it back to idle and I'm good. Let me know if that makes sense. And its using the Honeycomb Bravo throttle.
@ct8618
@ct8618 15 сағат бұрын
Can I ask how you have Bets/reverse thrust mapped to your Bravo? I have mine set up so that I push the throttle lever down to "engage" reverse then push it back up to actually get the reverse thrust going. Is there a better way?
@thatflightsimchannel
@thatflightsimchannel 13 сағат бұрын
@@ct8618 very similar to how I have it on my Bravo. Except I have the “decrease throttle” command to throw it into beta and then very similar to you, I’d push it up for reverse. The only other way we could remap it is to use FSUIPC or Axis n Ohs but I haven’t tried them yet for FS2024. But it seems these offer better mapping and binding than the default options within the sim
@scottkid2204
@scottkid2204 4 күн бұрын
Great stuff! I also have the Bravo throttle quadrant. How do you have your throttle bound for your regular/beta/reverse range? I have to use a hold reverse lever/button + powering up unlike how the 208 actually gets into reverse.
@thatflightsimchannel
@thatflightsimchannel 4 күн бұрын
That’s precisely how I’ve had my Bravo throttle inputs assigned. I’ve found that I’ll use Beta more than full on reverse so this works for me for now. Thanks for stopping by!

How did you remove the under belly pod on this one... I could see only the skydiving version with the pod removed.
@thatflightsimchannel
@thatflightsimchannel 4 күн бұрын
@@arunr5756 I selected the Scientific Research variant and it loses the seats and cargo pod. I believe Asobo’s streaming model is crap because Capt Flako and I have both connected simultaneously to the sim and either he or I will have a plane or 2 suddenly missing from our list. This could explain you only seeing the skydiving model

One of the ‘pages’ of the Garmin MFD has system settings. You navigate between pages by turning the bigger knob of the mfd. when you find the system page, press the small knob once then navigate to any one of the four data field settings by turning the big knob again. When you navigate to a field you want to change turn the smaller knob to change. The one you want is ldg for the landing time or enr for time to end of route. Once you have it selected press the enter button next to the mfd
