Having bought this airplane quite a while ago, i find video's like these very wholesome... never used it before, but at least when i fly it next time, i'll be playing with this. Thanks for the tutoring!

The "display unit" is the combiner. For this model, it is two pieces of glass that have a "hologram" squished between the two. The "front" piece of glass, the one further away from the pilot, is concave and the rear glass is convex. If you could look from the bottom, you could see the separation. Secondly, there are four, potentially five pieces to this system. The first one you mentioned is the combiner. Just above the pilot's head is the overhead unit, or OHU. You mentioned the HUD Control Panel, HCP, or as some pilots use it as a cup holder. The HUD Computer, or HC, is located in the avionics bay. If this is a Model 4000 system, it has only one button on it, a built-in test (BIT) button. The last piece is optional, the HGS Annunciator Panel (HAP), which sits in front of the co-pilot. Other than that, great overview of the system. One quick thing to add. If you want the display on the combiner, the glass in front of the pilot, to clear, you should be able to press the "CLR" button. That will blank the display.

The NO AIII message and APCH WARN were because the tuned ILS frequencies didn't match, same reason you couldn't select both autopilots. AIII mode would've worked just fine if those matched. Great video though!

Thank you, great explanation and demonstration! I normally fly helicopters and single propeller GA planes. But a few days ago I bought the PMDG 737-600, just because everybody seems to love this series of planes. And even if I don't want to spend most of my flying above 30.000 feet, I really enjoy the incredible depth of this simulation. I mean, just look at the runway overlay in the HUD, isn't that amazing?
