Don't be afraid of the yellow arc. It is perfectly safe and acceptable to fly in the yellow are in smooth air. Even light turbulence is not a problem. The structural limits in the yellow are are half what they are in the green arc. If the green arc protects agaimst a 500 foot per minute gust the green protects against a 250 foot per minute gust.

One of the issues I’ve had is very poor fuel consumption, finding it impossible to get anywhere near the actual published range. I’m wondering to what extent this is linked to inability to properly lean?
